All day talking about russian food. No other solution but to find some. We had blinis @ Cella which is very traditional finnish restaurant. No light products or vegetables (well freezed maybe). But food was really good.
Superb friday lunch @ gastrobar Emo. Big sister restaurant Olo can be proud. For main course I had salmon with jerusalem artichokes and barley.
We made sausages with friends for our bbq feast. It was quite easy and so much fun. Chorizo styled sausages were a bit unsalty but though delicious.
My favourite dish in Taste of Helsinki this year was surprisingly a dessert! (I'm not that into sweet things). Blackcurrant tea flavoured chocolate canache with blackcurrants from Demo.
Had bouillabaisse made of mussels @ Pastis which is the new restaurant from the owners of the most popular restaurant Muru. Food was great of course, rustique styled but athmosphere was quite hectic. Must-visit and enjoyable after work place but can't compete with big sister.
Japanese restaurant Kabuki is nearby our office and always a great choice. Not for quick lunches, you must have that japanese patience.. Had yakiniku, superb.
Asparagus season has arrived! Some selfmade risotto for starter..
This small soup restaurant has arrived in Kamppi. Had wonderful cauliflower soup with smoked salmon @ Soppakeittiö. New fav in having lunch on the run. They have 3 soups on the menu everyday, and alternative for vegs also.
Foie gras with pickled vegetables @ restaurant Olo.
Sugar-salted salmon with dill sauce, juniper and leek ash. What a friday night @ Olo which is one of the finest restaurants in Helsinki. All the ingredients are from local producers. Second starter was foie gras with pickled vegetables. For main we had veal with thyme sauce and for dessert milk chocolate pudding with ice cream. Pure and beautiful flavours, highly recommended!
Happy Shrove Tuesday! Had a shrove bun filled with marzipan and whipped cream @ Goodpie Bakery.
Blini weeks @ restaurant Lasipalatsi. The most traditional sides are whitefish or vendace roe, sour cream and chopped onion. And plus those there were forest mushroom salad, pickles with honey, shrimp salad, goatcheese mousse and gravlax tartar. Blinis were perfect, crispy outside and soft and a bit sour inside.
Cod with tagliatelle for main course @ Meche. Easy going place with simple menu but a lot of good flavours.
Had an ex tempore 3-course lunch last Saturday @ Strindberg. Safe choice; no surprises, no disappointments. For dessert I had this lemon tartalette with vanilla mousse.
Sunday lunch at home. Gambas al ajillo (shrimps with garlic) with rosemary bread and salad.
Had a spicy tomato soup with 'croutons' for lunch today at this new place called Grill4you. Despiting the idiotic name I might give them another chance. (The lunch menu had soup, pasta and salad. None of them was grilled.)
