What have you seen change about fandoms? What changes were good and which ones were bad?
*drums fingers on the desk*
...I don't know.
I was about to say 'less threats of doxing' but uh, *looks at the Digital Circus fandom.*
...Perhaps less an observation of fandom and more on the internet as a whole: People use to leave comments, share, and support more openly. For a while now, that has been happening less and less. Artists, writers, and others are not receiving as much of an indication that their art is being enjoyed and passed around, let alone seen. People have it in their heads that liking/reblogging/commenting 'too much' is somehow annoying.
Mind you, on platforms such as this, reblogging specifically is tremendously important. It helps people see a piece of work that someone clearly cares about and spent time on. In doing so, it encourages that person to engage with art more, knowing they will have engagement back. In a world where there has been a removal of third spaces, of unpaid spaces, of easy-to-get-to spaces, the internet has become sometimes the best if not only place people can interact. That's not to mention that the internet is the easiest social gathering to enter when you're plagued with mobility or chronic issues or when you're of a group that is not accepted in your IRL community.
When that vanishes under some strange pretense that it's annoying... it's sad. Because it's not annoying. It means a lot to people.
So- yeah. Reblog work. Leave a ramble in the tags or in the comment section. Send in asks. Be silly. Engage. We're all reaching out for one another. It's not cringe to take a hand.
[guy who doesnt watch shows voice] yeah ive been meaning to watch that show
You know what I want more of? Non-sexual intimacy. In close moments between friends. The “I can’t do this alone”. The “I need help”. The wounds that need bandaged. The “I can’t change my clothes on my own”. The need for help with simple tasks for different reasons. Maybe a recent injury or disability means they don’t know how to shower yet and they need help.
I want that. Write me that. You say that they are as close as family so show me they are as close as family.
Forty years ago, London was stolen by bats.
Fallen London is an online text adventure; a Victorian gaslight fantasy with horror in its bones and romance laced throughout its meat. Also it's funny.
You might have seen our gender selection text doing the rounds on here:
It's more than 4.5 million words long, and as such defies summary. However, it's broken down into morsels small enough that you won't choke.
It's playable for free on anything that can open a web browser. There are no ads and no installs. It's not possible to infinitely scroll it; you get some actions, spend them, and then are released to go and think about what you've done.
It has been developed over 16 years without the use of AI. (Anything with incorrect fingers is like that on purpose.)
Welcome, delicious friend.
AC Pride Icons - Valhalla [1/?]
I don't know how many queers are on the Valhalla side of Tumblr but I decided to make some pride icons! Originally I specifically wanted to do the sexualities I HC them with but then it just became "oops all bisexuals and 1 trans" so...
I would like to make some more characters and more flags so feel free to send me requests! I also plan to do some mirage characters as well, and I'm open to do other AC games so long as someone tells me which game/character/flag etc.
If anyone decides to use these I'd appreciate a like/reblog/credit but its not super necessary lol
Happy pride!
Since it’s pride month, got any character sexuality’s for like any of ur series characters ect? Or is that something you’ve never rlly thought about. If u don’t mind obviously btw im just curious.

I have been working on space boyfriend I swear but the ARMOR omg
i see some people being intimidated by folks who write long fics, even to the point of being ashamed that their fics are shorter, and i just want to tell them - don't be. as an insufferable windbag, i am always in awe of people who can cram so much meaning into so few words; i've seen fics have better impacts in 500 words than i could have in 5k
shout out to all the bitches NOT having gay sex this pride month
Unpopular opinion but if you don't enjoy the process you should find a different thing to do.
And I think this is true in general but now I'm talking about it in the context of AI.
If you don't enjoy making art and only care about the end piece and how it'll look and how much traction it"lol get online then making art is not something for you, find something you enjoy from start to finish.
Same goes for writing: if you do not enjoy writing and rewriting and then some more and instead want AI to write for you, being a writer is not something you should pursue.
Sure, not every part of creative process is going to be equally enjoyable but you should get satisfaction from solving the problems along the way and you should get a sense of accomplishment on your way of "making the piece yours" and you should have a sense of ownership once you are done.
None of these things will come from typing in a prompt into chatGPT. And I am sad to see so many people are missing on the opportunity to experience the joy of making something with their own hands and brains.
#this is so true#i know writers like to joke about hating writing#but like if you're serious?#if you actually hate the process of writing?#why is this what you've chosen to pursue#just do something else
Asexuals were always part of pride and it really fucking shows when people think it's a recent term.
Although not going by the term "asexual" yet, asexuality was spoken about alongside homosexuality as far back as the 1890s. Asexual history is just as vital to queer history as any other term and I'm so tired of watching us being treated like a new thing
This image is so so fucking important to me
Reblog this, cowards
you have to be kinder to people with memory issues.
you have to be kinder to people who are slow processors.
you have to be kinder to people who don't understand your jokes.
you have to be kinder to people who forget important dates.
you have to be kinder to people with cognitive decline.
you have to be kinder to people who were always this way, too.
you have to be kind. you have to be kind.
