Original Sinners: A mid winter night’s dream

All hail Tiffany Reisz and her mind frigging games

When I first started the book, U thought she was giving as the side story of Happy Ever After for the unholy trinity. Although technically in the main series, they did live happily ever after, it wasn’t the version of HEA that I’m super happy about. But after reading the series so a couple of years have passed, I have lived with the ending and original sinners is still my ultimate favourite series, from its unconventional characters, brilliant storyline and Tiffany Reisz’s amazing writing style. 

The hope that slowly grew more as the story moved. I always wanted to see the characters in a “normal” storyline, just as an alternative so that it was just the 3 of them. I thought I was gonna get it, and well my hope was dashed. Well disappointed but not surprised. It was a good quick read tho, anything that Tiffany Reisz writes for original sinners I will gladly gobble up the content and hope that it never ends,

LuvBane Book Review: Twisted by Andrew E. Kaufman

One of the rare times that I managed to sit my ass down after completing a book. It was just a meh for me. It’s been a while since I wrote a review, even if it was short, and it being non-romance. I found this book on Amazon randomly and the blurb really attracted me in. I was really worried that it was going to be some kind of paranormal horror which I can never stomach, plus my “weak heart” prevents me from reading/watching any sort of gore/horror-horror. So if you follow my blog, don’t worry, I won't share anything scary or what I dub as “horror-horror”. My usual genre is romance/fantasy but I guess I wanted to challenge myself. Carry on reading for my review on Twisted!

Spoiler Alert (3.5 stars)

Although I was hooked at the very start, the excitement didn’t stay with me throughout the book. I must admit that I was quite disappointed with the book. The first 20% of the book has a really good build-up to the main plotline which was really the downfall for me. 

Having watched Shutter Island, the storyline was not a surprise to me. I kind of guessed the ending and that was the mood killer for me at around 60% of the book. I just wanted to complete the book and even after finishing the book, there is some sort of emptiness that which I feel from the book. The feeling of incompleteness, as if there were missing elements from the ending. 

Honestly, I won’t recommend this book to people who have watched/read shutter island. If you have read this book but have not watched shutter island (movie), go ahead and watch it, you would most probably agree that the story is better written from the start till the end.

Ryan’s Bed by Tijan

Just finished this book and here is my review and yes, there will be spoilers.

I’ve read quite a few number of books under the fantasy/romance/high school genre. Tijan is on my list of “authors to look out for” since I know that her books are usually quite good. But for Ryan’s Bed, I must say I am quite disappointed. 

The storyline wasn’t able to hold my attention span for long and I constantly flipped through the pages of kindle ebook quickly. I felt that she was trying to pull a fast one on us. Mackenzie was just like Sam from fallen crest while Ryan was Mason. I felt that there was nothing new in it, same fallen crest storyline but shown in a different way. 

The ending was honestly out of nowhere for me, and there was no explanation for it. As if she suddenly had an idea at the end of the book and decided to just put it in to make it more exciting. But it was seriously a no go for me, there was nothing to support it her ending. 

I was and am still a big fan of Tijan’s Carter Reed and Fallen Crest Series and I really hope that the next book will be much better in terms of novelty and not back to her classic books.

Series Recommendations

High School Romance - Fallen Crest Series by Tijan

Honestly tho, who don’t love some loyal, protective alpha males like Mason and Logan and I would like to add are protective as heck. Sam ain’t my favourite female character as compared to Heather Jax who is one hell of a girl crush, along with Channing who is similar to Mason in an alpha male kind of way. Both of them are super sweet on their own and I can’t wait for their story which will be coming out in hopefully soon, like 2018 soon.

Adult Vampire Romance - Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward

600 over pages of full content story? phewwwww who doesn’t love a thick book! She currently has 17 over books in the BDB series and I must say, I really love her stlye of how she brings in past characters into her future books so that we still get to see how the other characters are doing. But I’m not a big fan of her storyline structure as she seems to put in too many POVs from characters in a book and I can’t seem to get into the side storylines.

No explanations needed for this, even now 1 year after reading this series, I still think about them so much -  Søren and Nora. The most scandalous and controversial book characters that I have ever read and I love all the characters so much. The one thing that you would need before you read this book is to keep an open mind, there is so many different aspects to it, so well developed that I was and still am speechless about this series. This series deserves 10 out of 5 stars. Tiffany Reisz is such an amazing, non-cliche, always-be-prepared-to-surprise-you kind of author. You never know where she will bring you into her world and that is such a rare gem nowadays. I got utterly destroyed after reading her books. She raised the standard to freaking high. I am still hoping that she will continue the Original Sinners series but I highly doubt so sighpie
