MUTUAL!! THAT IMAGE IS AI GENERATED!! MUTUAL! DON'T REBLOG THAT!! IT'S AI!!MUTUAAAL!!
Please anyone tell me if I accidentally reblog sth ai generated! It's NEVER intentional
Time Go Fishing 2.0
My old art from May already needed a fat refresh. This version looks leagues better, I think.
07.13.2026
Level up: you are now level 29. A self portrait.
Reblog if your art project has not, does not, and never will make use of generative ai at any point in your creative process.
Currently redoing this one actually but still fairly happy with this initial take.
Why do you reblog your own fics so much?
Because someone might as well!? And look at this. Look. At. This.
Does this look right to you??
These are just the last three fics I wrote. I appreciate the likes, believe me I do, but you have to understand. Likes do nothing for content creators. Itās the reblogs. Because thatās how you find shit on your dashboard. Through reblogs. Not likes. This isnāt twitter or tiktok or instagram. This is a website thatās run by the reblog system.
Reblogging helps content creators put their stuff out there. Why do you think so many people stopped writing fanfic and creating beautiful fanart and edits? Itās because they put in hours of work and donāt get nearly enough notes for their masterpieces. Yes we do this because we enjoy it but likeā¦some validation wonāt hurt. A boost of confidence here and there might be all someone needs to finish whatever thing they started and left.
Anyway, Iām still going to reblog my shitā¦
I think Iām gonna restart blogging my own shit.
WRITERS. ARTISTS. EDITORS.
REBLOG YOUR OWN WORK.
THERE IS NO SHAME IN IT.
And still thereād be people whoād not REBLOG this post
Still think this site would be better if it didnāt have a like button.
^^ Just some examples of my stories, pulled at random from my notes. Some of those stories are a couple of years old, and thatās not a lot of reblogs.
Likes donāt help get your favourite creatorsā stuff seen. It doesnāt get artists commissioned for glorious artwork, and it doesnāt get writers new readers (or commissions if theyāre open). If you didnāt enjoy it that much, then thereās obviously no pressure to reblog, but if you did enjoy it, then the least you can do is reblog.
The reason Iāve got my āold stories reblogā tag is because new folks donāt necessarily know about my older stories, so I reblog an old one to bring it to light again. I feel no shame in doing this, and neither should you if youāre a content creator. Promote your work because not many people seem prepared to help out.
Reblogging this because itās important
Likes feel like emphasis on this app, reblogs & comments what really let creators know you enjoy their content.
Yes. Reblogs are what keeps this site alive, and they are what keeps creators creating. AO3 works the same way. Kudos are just likes. Comments are how a writer knows you enjoyed their story.
I love your works and I'm always in awe for how fluffy the animals look. What tecnique you use to shade fur? Do you use custom brushes (incase you do them in digital) or it's just a particular tecnique that works?
Thank you!
You can check out my fur brushes on my Gumroad page but any bristly brush will be fine for painting fur. My approach depends on the lenght and texture, short fur really only needs a few indications and for long fur it's best to simplify into tufts or clumps instead of painting individual hairs.
reblog to save a liFE
Up to now, I have been drawing random generic suit jackets.
Never again.

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.
Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.
Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.
Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.
SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.
SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.
Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.
Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.
Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.
Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.
Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.
i am begging you all to stop treating this site like instagram if you dont want it to be content free by next year
actually i'm reblogging this again with commentary, fuck it.
There's people in the notes talking about "not basing your worth off numbers", and like. that isn't what this post is about. It's not a threat, either, it's a comment on how this site works, at a mechanical level.
Likes are worthless. Let me say that again.
Likes. Are. Worthless.
They don't do anything. They're a bookmark. They were never part of how tumblr works - in the early days we didn't even have a like button, and the site still more or less acts as though we don't. They're personal bookmarks and the only people who "get" anything from them are you (you bookmark the post) and the OP (maybe a very slight serotonin boost), but they don't keep the post in circulation, they don't keep it alive.
Without reblogs, a post will be dead in the water within an hour. No matter how good it is, no matter how many hours of painstaking love and attention its creator put into it, it will be dead within an hour and never seen again. It gets pushed down the dashboard and nobody aside from the followers who were online when it was posted will see it. And there's a huge difference in engagement on posts that get even one lucky reblog from someone with wider reach - that one reblog shows your post to five, ten, fifteen other people, and if one of those people also reblogs it, and so on and so forth, that's how posts stay alive and in circulation. It's like a contagion, but we're sharing creativity instead of disease.
And that matters. That "lifespan" of the post matters, artists and writers give up on this site and go to sites where posts have longer lifespans because it sucks to spend hours of your life, maybe even days, to get two notes and some fucking pocket lint for your efforts. We create for ourselves, but we share because we want people to see it, because that engagement offers positive feedback and encouragement to continue. But more than that, if every post (whether art, fic, gifset, whatever) is dying within an hour or a day of being posted, that means it's not making it onto your dashboard. And if it's not on your dashboard, you won't see it. This kills the site, after a while. You stop seeing the posts, because nobody is putting them on your dashboard, because this site doesn't have an algorithm like twitter and insta's and it shouldn't, it's the last bastion of chronological timelines.
Forgive my giant fucking rant I am so tired right now and full of the plague but like stop acting like artists and writers are just being whiny little babies, or "threatening" to withhold our fucking work (you're not entitled to it! it's ours! if we get nothing out of sharing it we're well within our rights to keep it private!) when we say this site will dry up without reblogs. We're just stating facts.
also Iāve seen some people in the tags sayĀ āoh there have always been more likes on postsā no there havenāt ????Ā
these are posts from 2013, look at the ratio
not to sound like a nursing home resident but back then people know that the point of this site was to reblog things and share them, not to bury them away among your other 23k liked posts
hi sorry to bother you incase youāve been asked this before, I was wondering if you have any advice when it comes to drawing Astarion? Also I love your art style it looks delicious <3
My approach to drawing anyone consistently is to figure out angles/guidelines and relative positions of things, especially for the face. Astarion's a delight in this regard because he has so many angles and interesting proportions c: I'm kind of obsessed with the stylisation in BG3, in particular how they addressed elven features (Astarion, Minthara, Halsin, Cazador, etc, all have such a delightful set of features. Yes even Cazador)
Some things I notice in Astarion:
And here's how I break it down, kinda:
As my usual disclaimer I haven't used references for him in ages I just stole the angles and ran with them in my head. But you get the gist of it
guys iāve got to admit. i have no idea how in hell astarionās hair works and itās driving me insane
i drew a hair tutorial a while ago that may help you :)
As promised, hereās the fake screenshot tutorial! This is a method Iāve been fussing with since December of last year, and as you can probably see thereās a lot of room for improvement and streamlining lol. But this is just the method Iām using and am still in the process of changing, so I encourage everyone to experiment with it and find what works best for them.
This was all done in Photoshop and requires basic knowledge of color adjusting, filters, and layer blending modes, but itās mechanical and simple enough that it can likely be picked up easily or reverse engineered to work in another program like GiMP or Sai.
Hope this helps! Have fun, kids!
