The Big Gig (Lindsey + Sofie)

As always, Summerfest was packed. Hordes of people crowded into the Henry W. Maier Festival park, where many a yearly celebration with “fest” somewhere in the title were held. Summerfest, of course, trounced them all in scope. Music blared from several stages, with half-deafened attendees barely flinching at the blasts of sound coming from the speakers.

Of course, Lindsey wasn’t there for the usual acts. Oh no, she was there for a very special one, something of an underground hit in the supernatural community…

Anyone who knew Sofie personally knew that she was terribly, terribly shy. In spite of being tall and looking like she could bench a car, she’d always been a bit of a distant figure who found it hard to speak in front of strangers and rarely, if ever, raised her voice. She’d been raised with a lot of physical power, and she’d always been afraid of hurting people.

The only exception was on a stage. On a stage, she walked out with her guitar and let rip. On stage, she’d sing until her lungs burned and play until she could barely feel her fingers. On stage, she could go on a tear. It was like a transformation, of a sort. In came a shy, careful young woman and out stepped a rock goddess ready to do what she did best.

Just she noticed the set starting, she waved at Lindsey, then proceeded to begin the first number.
