i get high self esteem when a cat that hates everybody else ends up liking me
I’m a huge supporter of things which annoy misogynistic rich white men
Not even slightly surprised at the reactions to Emma Watson’s being exposed as a tax evader but LMAO just pls she is not ‘badass’, she’s not empowering you or ‘fighting patriarchal oppression’ or ‘taking back taxes she spent on tampons’. She’s a rich privileged woman who’s wealth allows her to be above the reach of the law and she’s taking advantage of that, just like David Cameron and all the corporations that are just so much easier to hate. Tax evasion by the rich is directly contributing to making life harder and harder for the rest of society as well as increasing all forms of social and economic inequality, and the fact that she willingly contributes to that tells me she doesn’t really give that much of a fuck about us. But yeah #HEFORSHE, and all that.
Ok firstly I see your point but taxes and feminism don’t have much to do with each other. I would evade my taxes if I could afford to. I would be a hoe ass gypsy and avoid any bullshit corporate gain. She is white and she is privileged but she’s also a voice who without, we wouldn’t have had as much feminist exposure. Like, she spoke to hundreds of representatives for hundreds of countries at the UN. They all listened attentively to her long speech that I fully believe and share with many when I’m asked about feminism. Nobody is a 100% morally sound human.
Taxes and feminism have everything to do with each other when you preach equality and want us to campaign for equal pay but at the same time profit off a system that puts a disproportional economic burden on people poorer than you (yeah lets get equal pay for women but not really economic quality for the poor ones lol) To me it just shows the contradictions and incompatibility between feminism and capitalism and I’m not here for someone who can preach for one and not the other, even if it is to a whole group of UN delegates
