wip photo’s / ramble about the process below!

highkey wish I could just make a mold of og Al’s face sculpt, but I don’t wanna ruin his paint job so starting from scratch it is!!i think i did a decent job of replicating his face with dm’s tho!

With these dolls, I try really hard to not buy anything new for them, unless i can’t replicate something or I need more raw materials. The only thing I’ve bought outside of that for all 3 boys is jean fabric for Seth’s pants, and some different black fabrics for dm al!

Everything else is hand made or hand dyed, or is scrap fabric I’ve had laying around since my college stop motion days. I recently started re-doing the BS boys bodies bc they weren’t reallllly meant to be seen without clothes, but I was too excited to finish them back then,

I’m still not super pleased with matching up the fabric color to the skin color, but I can always go back in with Seth’s and get it a bit darker down the road! …this does involve dunking him into a boiling pot of dye, but uh. beauty is pain!! Al still needs some thigh meat to him, and both boys need new pants as uh.. yeah their backsides don’t fit their pants anymore LOL. I’d also love to one day re-do Al’s sweater with embroidery!! ..once i learn how to do that

but back to DM Al!!

Still picking away at his hair, I might go back in and swap out his nose ring for real metal at some point, but I’m really happy with how he’s turning out so far!

I’ll def use some smaller scrap metal for his rings, and I’ve got plenty of little chains and metal bits to add to his pants and shirt hehehe. it makes me really proud to thrift or make everything for these guys ehehe!!!
