Since I was getting ready for work, I guess this is a semi GRWN video 😂

These are the results of my twistout from my Avocado 🥑 Deep Conditioner session the other day! Watch ⬇️

I had these twists in for about 2 days before I unraveled and fluffed them out. I didn’t use any other products since then, but I did oil and massage my scalp with Extra Virgin Olive Oil enhanced with a few drops of 100% Tea Tree Essential Oil, 100% Rosemary Essential Oil and 100% Peppermint Essential Oil

You know how I like it when you lovin on me..🖤

It’s wash day! 🧖🏾‍♀️ It usually takes me like a whole week just to mentally prepare for it but I wanted to record a quick video sharing my wash day routine for all of you that have been asking me for one 🙏🏽

The steps are really simple and straightforward but because natural hair is so kinky and coily ➿〰️➰, working in sections is the best technique to avoid snagging and breaking.

1️⃣ I started with a scalp detox by gently massaging my scalp with half Apple Cider Vinegar “With the Mother” and half water to break up some of the debris and build up. I let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing.

2️⃣ Next, I clarified my scalp using my creamy African Black Soap (will be for sale soon 😉). I ONLY applied the black soap to my scalp: no flake left behind 😝 Once my scalp was clean, I distributed the lather down each twist to gently cleanse my hair before rinsing THOROUGHLY.

3️⃣ Since I’ve been manipulating my hair all week and using several different styling products, I decided to do a strengthening treatment by applying AphoGee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor. After applying and covering with a cap, I only left it in for about 5 minutes before rinsing out (BTW, I usually replace the AphoGee treatment with a rice water treatment)

4️⃣ To incorporate moisture and balance back into my hair, I followed up with a DIY deep conditioner using leftover Aussie and Suave conditioner. I added Aloe Vera, Vegetable Glycerine, Honey, Castor Oil and my Herbal Gold Hair Oil (will be for sale soon 😉) for a more penetrating, moisturizing treatment. I left this in for 45 minutes before rinsing

5️⃣ To blow dry and straighten, I spritzed my hair with CHI thermal protectant and Lotta Body Love Me 5 in 1 leave-in treatment. Once my hair was blown out, I oiled my scalp lightly with my Herbal Gold. I gently flat ironed my hair in bigger sections and used the “search and destroy” method to dust my ends whenever I came across any knots or severely split ends. I kinda went OD on the Herbal Gold oil but that’s just because I love it sooooo much 💕 😂

And that’s literally it! I will be doing a protective style later this week so I’ll probably wear my hair in two flat twists until then.

DIY 🥑Avocado🥑 Deep Conditioner - Avocados are rich in SEVERAL vitamins such as Vitamin E/A/K/B6/C. They are also enriched with potassium, protein, copper, fiber and folate. The natural fat and oils make them a great treatment for hair and skin

I enhanced this treatment with 1 tablespoon of each ingredient and 10 drops of each essential oil ⤵️

✔️Glycerin: produced with plant oils and is a natural humectant. Glycerin attracts moisture into hair strands and smoothes and softens hair to prevent frizz.

✔️Honey: a natural emollient and humectant which softens and moisturizes hair

✔️Extra Virgin Olive Oil: high in mono-saturated fatty acids and Vitamin E, a natural antioxidant, that promotes hair growth. EVOO is one of the few oils that penetrate the hair follicles.

✔️Coconut Oil: has a high moisture retaining ability and keeps hair moist and soft. Also prevents hair breakage.

✔️Amla Powder: known as Indian Gooseberry, Amla is a natural conditioner and hair nourisher. Regular use aids in strengthening hair roots to reduce breakage and retain hair length.

✔️Lavender and Tea Tree Essential Oil: these two essential oils are geared towards keeping the scalp clear of bacteria to promote health growing hair. Lavender is nourishes the scalp and clears inflammatory issues. It is antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and has analgesic properties. Tea Tree naturally soothes itchy scalp. It prevents hair problems like dandruff and psoriasis ..

I used the hand blender to incorporate all of the ingredients together into a smooth consistency and GENEROUSLY applied it to my hair in sections. I only kept it in for about 45 mins and when I rinsed it out, my hair was soooo soft 😍 I couldn’t believe how conditioned and strengthened my hair felt 💦
