It occurs to me that there are people who weren’t on this website in 2012 and therefore never saw the magical gif that you can actually hear:
It’s been over five years and that still impresses the hell out of me.
Everyone else really contributes to their fandoms and I’m just over here in the corner like
I feel you man
I have become tumblr famous…

people born in 2000 should be like 12-14 now. but they’re not. that’s how fucked up our world is now
The older this post gets the funnier it becomes
My cousin born in 2000 is a licensed psychologist.

unpopular opinion probably but I actually like that ao3 doesn’t let people take back their kudos.
unlike social media platforms (which ao3 is not) where people unlike stuff whenever they think or find out the original posters’ moral compass doesn’t perfectly align with their own’s or whatever, and “likes” can be taken back at any time, ao3 treats kudos as something sacred. once you give it, it’s the author’s to keep forever.

a thing about me is i basically never notice a wig or other kind of hairpiece in tv/movies. it has to be party city territory for me to even twig it. people will complain about characters' wigs looking bad and i will nod along but there is like a 90% chance i did not notice for a second while watching. i consider this mostly a blessing.
ai will literally straight up say "I can make mistakes :)" and be accepted by millions of companies worldwide. meanwhile you'll either get fired or get your resume thrown into a trash can if you, as a human being, make one slight mistake or are not always performing perfectly

Ok so thanks for voting on this but i need you to reblog it too
To my 25 - 35 year olds, you've reached the age where people around you are starting to give up on themselves because they think it's too late. Don't let that energy rub off on you. It's not too late.
hold me tight
Have been playing cyberpunk 2077 and I love that my girl just has a bunch of porn in her apartment and plus shaving cream and lotion “for men” in her bathroom. Classic example of the “designing the game for a male audience so when you play as a girl she becomes becomes a nuanced and esoteric dyke” phenomenon

I find it very amusing how much people are like "no free feet pics" and like, censor out their feet lest someone be turned on as if every single aspect of the human body isn't attractive for someone.
This is mostly a "this is your line in the sand?" comment but the flip side of this is actually a frustrated rage I have that people are so terrified of, let me check my notes, being considered attractive to someone. But it's not just being attractive, is it? It's being seen as sexually appealing, because our society is obsessed with being pretty but void of sex. Everyone is beautiful and no one is horny, etc etc.
I know people will complain about how they didn't give someone permission to jerk it to images of themselves, or they don't want to think about people doing that. But first of all, stop playing the thought police, I don't care if it makes you uncomfy, you can't control how people think. But secondly, that just wraps back around to my first post: every single part of the human body is sexually appealing to someone. It is fine. Sex and attraction are just a part of human experience, it's not a bad thing if someone finds you or a part of you appealing. It becomes bad when they harass you or treat you like an object, which is not what's happening in these cases. (Also I'd wager that the disconnect of sex is what causes a lot of sexual objectification but that's digressing even further.) Someone being attracted to your feet is morally neutral, actually, and throwing a fit about your feet is so embarrassing because you're missing the bigger picture by a long shot.
Time to chuckle about this again. This post is brought to you by someone censoring their feet on a video of them putting on a corset. You know the famously fetishized undergarment?
We really went from "free the nipple" to "um the public didn't consent to you wearing a choker"
Around the same time as we went from "We need comprehensive safer-sex education in school because some non-negligible percent of teenagers will choose to have sex even if they're told not to" to "25 year old minor" and "17 year olds worried that they're pathological sex addicts for being horny while underage" and "11 year olds worrying that they're pedophiles because they're attracted to kids their own age."
