which of your inaminate insaity characters would be the best minecraft speedrunner. specify ssg, rsg, or fsg categories.
Please offer me one business day to legitimately consider the answer to this question. My knowledge of Inanimate Insanity lore runs far too deep; therefore, I feel compelled to compare the series with almost any random topic.
Here, I shall offer an appetizer: OJ would absolutely select the SSG option for Minecraft speedrunning, since he prefers familiarity over new experiences, and he would (almost immediately) quit the run to construct a life-sized version of Hotel OJ for everyone to enjoy! No one else enjoys it, because they are busy playing their own copies of the game. He sulks for hours. That guy neeeeds validation for all of his hard work.
A Comprehensive Guide to II's Minecraft Speedrunning Preferences (Part 1)
We're gonna need more business days.
First, for the sake of completeness: I will cover the inclinations of every Inanimate Insanity character. Even minor characters are not safe from my judgement! This is why you should save an extra five minutes of your life.
Second, to ensure that everyone is on the same page: Minecraft speedrunning terminology, in this case, revolves around the types of generated seeds (the world itself).
SSG (Set Seed Glitchless) involves consistent runs of the exact same world seed; the goal is to become proficient at mastering one world's unique properties.
RSG (Random Seed Glitchless) is a more unpredictable format, as the word "Random" suggests; players attempt to best an entirely new location.
FSG (Filtered Seed Glitchless) presents a middle ground between set and random play; while the world is not predefined, the seed -- often chosen on a website designed for finding decent seeds -- spawns the player near helpful resources (e.g., villages).
These chaotic messes are terrible at Minecraft speedrunning, with a few exceptions. Some of them will never succeed, some of them will become completely distracted from their main goal, and some of them will... *gulp* cheat... who, under these conditions, can earn the title of Best Minecraft Speedrunner? Let's. Find. Out!
Season 1 Contestants
Balloon: In Season 1, he partakes in RSG runs to prove how skilled and flexible he is. It's also great practice for the randomized nature of Inanimate Insanity challenges. By Season 2, he's still generally committed to RSG, but he warms up to FSG as he learns to stop brandishing his abilities against other contestants (i.e., "being the best"). He's a much better team player, but don't underestimate his weird intuition for Strongholds.
Apple: Minecraft is, as a matter of fact, a great game for Apple. She doesn't need to read complex directions (she just has fun finding cool trinkets on her own); additionally, the experience is even better with friends! Speedrunning-wise, I don't think she would be much of an enthusiast, but the nature of SSG keeps her within a pleasant comfort zone. If you put any undue pressure on her, she will see the run as obligatory and dispassionately partake in it in the hopes of pleasing you. You should feel terrible.
Baseball: He would rather not be in charge and build fun houses, haha. Competition is overdone, leadership is exhausting, expectations of winning remind him of worse better days... leave him be. Don't make him speedrun.
Bomb: FSG, all the way. Why not increase his chances early on and avoid the hassle of selecting new strategies with every seed? But he enjoys challenges enough to resent the repetition of SSG gameplay. Do not be fooled by his apparent shyness; in his free time, when he isn't speedrunning, he heckles the other speedrunners. Always remember that he is a little bit of a troll.
Bookcasey: SSG, because he enjoys flexing his encyclopedic knowledge on others through focused expertise. Acknowledge his intelligence. Please. P l e a s e .
Knife: Oooo, he represents a real "rags-to-riches" story in gaming. During Season 1, when he heard of Minecraft, he probably insulted its presumed hypomasculinity while secretly possessing a desire to play/unwind. It wasn't until Season 2 and a few casual games with Pickle that he grew less defensive about his interest. He bounces between all three types of seeds without much preference for one style, as speedrunning does tap into his aggression issues a bit. If controllers aren't flying across the room, he's offering legitimately helpful advice to others as retaliation against whatever Bomb is doing.
Bow: SSG is sooooo borrrrriiiinng, like, what's the point of speeding through the game if it's always the saaMe? She loves playing RSG for the purpose of flaunting her new records in front of everyone. Her unapologetic love is endearing, although everyone wishes she would stop barging into their rooms to mention how she got sooooo close to killing that Enderman and then it totally CHEATED! NOT FAIR!
Evil Paper/Looseleaf: He's more of a commentator within Paper's headspace; he wishes he could front to play SSG rounds whenever he likes, but he is obviously not keen on being pushed there by PTSD triggers, so he keeps those thoughts to himself. This doesn't mean that he can't shame Paper for making boneheaded decisions while playing! We do not have time to tame cute dogs! Get back to the Nether!
Lightbulb: She is more so into Minecraft to build colorful projects and surprisingly complex contraptions -- her ability to create commemorative pieces for every holiday out of Redstone baffles Test Tube to this day -- but if she was forced at gunpoint to speedrun, she would select SSG. She could compare times with everyone else, but it would all be in good fun. She sobs at The End's dialogue every time.
Marshmallow: Hmmmm, she's a bit of a challenging one. I don't see Marshmallow as being much of a gamer, in all honesty, especially in the context of Minecraft's dissociative/lonely environment (two themes she would rather not engage with at this time). Perhaps she would try SSG, grow increasingly unsettled with the whole experience, and bail to spend time with the similarly disinclined Baseball. Co-op with Apple and Bow is fine, though.
Nickel: RSG! Do you take Nickel for anything but an ardent speedrunner?! In fact, I presume that he would make an excellent streamer; his snarky quips and generally sardonic demeanor would net him a billion views... until he gets #cancelled for trash-talking someone too harshly, that is. The "someone" was Fan, but I'm not ready to talk about him...
OJ: Already written!
Paintbrush: They are the ultimate master of rage-quitting (complete with promises of never returning to the game), followed by awkwardly shuffling back to the Hotel OJ couch a few hours later. Paintbrush is anything but a real quitter. To manage their rage, they stick to more predictable SSG runs, harvest gunpowder for TNT purposes -- they're aware that such tomfoolery slows down their gameplay, but they do not really care -- and talk to themselves in a narrative format (playing into those theatrical tendencies).
Paper: He engages in somewhat irresponsible RSG runs at 3:00 A.M. to blow off steam after a long day of hotel-related duties; he doesn't mind setting new records, but he would rather use Minecraft as a vehicle to focus on non-real life problems. Selecting a new scenario keeps further frustration at bay. One time, he attempted to play FSG. Let's just state that he was this close to re-splitting Evil Paper/Looseleaf in a post-S1R world.
Pepper: She used to avoid playing most games unless she could do so in tandem with Salt. As she has gradually developed more of an independent identity -- well, in theory -- she has eased into Minecraft as a low-stress single-player offering (though she keeps sharing low-resolution screenshots of her victories in the Hotel OJ group chat, much to everyone's chagrin). Speedrunning-wise, she enjoys spawning near aesthetically pleasing areas in FSG and destroying as little of the surrounding environment as possible.
Pickle: THE GAMER. How could you expect him to pick just one play style?! Well, as a matter of fact, he prefers RSG. Similar to Paper, gaming serves as a vehicle for controlled eustress; unimaginable distress is easier to avoid when he possesses a controller. He'll dabble in FSG and SSG during more competitive moods, or when he's sitting down for a session with Knife. His interest in gaming strikes a delicate balance between "legitimately therapeutic coping mechanism" and "avoidance strategy," which is why Knife occasionally drags him away from trancing screentime.
Salt: Similar to Nickel, Salt is also a Minecraft streamer; however, unlike Nickel, she focuses more on relaxing ventures with a side of ASMR. She has also been cancelled at least five times, but she just won't stop streaming to an audience of four objects (including Pepper), despite the numerous Google Docs. Speedrunning is far too stressful, and, like, it'll ruin the cool vibes! (Salt's staunch opposition to speeding through Minecraft explains Pepper's reluctance to do so until the latter achieved partial self-actualization.)
Taco: In Season 1, to complement her lol xD randomz persona, she played RSG while deliberately missing important shortcuts to fabricate a clueless image. Truthfully? She hated the lack of gameplay reliability, but could not reveal her true self in front of anyone (especially Pickle, who she often played with when she was not speedrunning). During Season 2, she peeks inside Hotel OJ and gives everyone a mix of useful and malicious "tips" to play vicariously through them. By Season 4, she enjoys SSG without the need to conceal herself out of shame; still, she waits until everyone else has disappeared, because the atmosphere is still awkward. She drafts apologies on signs.

i kissed a boy on was afraid of getting pragent so my friend hitted me in the stomach so i wouldnt give birth. but if it births im telling everyone your the dad so i can get baby alimony money.
I shall name the bequeathed offspring "Tibble" and train them to seek vengeance against their absent parent (as in, you).
Sorry am on lsd. Shouldn't have told you 2 eat a sandwich. That is your decision not mine. Sorry
I am about to enjoy a bowl of pasta, thank you very much; I can consume a sandwich in my own time. Until then, I do not accept your apology, and your untimely fate awaits you in four days.
Would I Lie to You? is peak television. Most everyone is hilarious. I have discovered many amazing comedians just by watching singular episodes. One team captain is a disturbingly "normal" (uhhhh) man; the other probably committed four separate crimes before walking on stage. Against all odds, they're both married. The host is a short king who does not know whether he's male-bonding or being bullied. You know the fun will reach maximum levels whenever anyone receives a Possession. One contestant canonically burned down his own home. It's even British.

Thanks for responding and reblogging! Sincerely, a person involved in volunteer groups whose members are getting older every year without enough young people stepping up to replace them and she'd like to figure out why so she can help improve things. without judgement or criticism.
and if you do volunteer, thank you! please plug your work in the notes!
I know I'm chomping on extremely obvious ragebait as I write this post, but this screenshot I found on Reddit is deeply funny to me:
Again, given the account's username and previous Tweets, I'm looking at a generic "woke left BAD!!!!" rabble-rouser. I know, I knoooow. Yet... even the attempt at getting a rise out of people falls apart when you consider exactly what show we're dealing with on the left side of the screen.
EEnE is the type of show that should make conservatives blush. Heck, it already did; I recall minor moral panics from parents who watched one (1) episode with their children and immediately became concerned about those kids replicating relevant behaviors. (This is because, as we all know, kids have no sense of morality, ability to distinguish fiction from reality, or interiority. Duh.) And the show was already over for a while by that point!
The entire zeitgeist is flagrantly anti-authority. Parents are absent. The one visible authority figure is an abuser; his behavior is never justified in outlandish "always listen to your elders" ways. The cul-de-sac represents a sort of anarchist utopia, where rules are meant to be broken, and a true leader isn't necessary for everyone to enjoy some sort of prosperity. Every character is one scam away from full-blown homoromanticism. Eddy dresses in drag often and enjoys a consistent relationship to femininity. Sarah has a gay-coded best friend and a positive mentor/mentee relationship with an older girl (pundits hurl at the idea of two girls being friends). The power of friendship always conquers all.
For those mourning the supposed disappearance of Evil Paper: I would not automatically assume that he has vanished forever (if not in canon, then in fan works). Fusion is not necessarily permanent -- especially when considering exceedingly stressful environments -- and the inherently corrupt nature of Inanimate Insanity exerts strain on everyone. Paper appeared to be at peace with Evil Paper by the end of IIS1Re13; therefore, if he began to experience a "re-split," I do not believe he would react with utter consternation and desperate resistance. He would be surprised, sure, but he would still accept the important role Evil Paper has played in protecting him from legitimate outside threats. And given how passive the contestants have become in IIS4, his brand of direct confrontation is just what they require right now.
Then again... the remaster timeline technically isn't relevant to the main series (in a weirdly conveyed sense that still confuses me and other members of our fandom). Then again²... even in the main timeline, EP could return from Crushed Piano Territory at any moment. So many possibilities! This is where I beg for the fan works to save me. Save me, fan works.
“I wish people didn’t apply the term objectum so broadly and that there was a push to platform attraction to objects as they are instead of using OS to describe attraction to things like robots, object show characters, etc.”
The monkey’s paw curls. Normie Twitter is now debating about Toy Story porn and attacking “TikTok objectums.”
