i really hate how in universe people think it was the informant secret that started killing people in the show because it wasn’t. perry would’ve still failed to sell his club and done the whole party anyway.
like i GET what they’re going after but even roderick says that imaginary informant didn’t kill the family. idk it just bugs me cause i read a few articles by screen rant (a mistake on my part) that said the informant starts off the chain events and it doesn’t! if you take his auguste’s mention of that everything still would’ve happened. because once perry died camille took over running the family and she would’ve still gone to the rue morge to get dirt on vic because she hated vic and leo still would’ve died from the drugs that he was using to self medicate. like the beautiful thing is that even without the trial that would’ve destroyed the family (which is why verna came knocking to get her pounds of flesh) the family could’ve eaten itself alive because perry literally finds out about the abandoned warehouse from going to a meeting. literally even without the trial everything still would’ve happened and the informant just adds an extra layer of tension and unease in the family to not go to each other and seek refugee because how are they to know if they’re gonna sell them out
idk it’s just such a good show but the only reason the informant is there is to make sure the family doesn’t reach out and turns on each other, which it was already doing big it just heightens it
