Current update for A Dance Of Starlight (and camp nano)
I have very little hope of making it to 10k this month, since I can only seem to write in short burtst before my meds kick in.
That said, I managed to get a couple hundred words in and someone should be proud of me.
Favorite line:
The walk to the Tradove manor wasn’t difficult, but it was long. Humming a tone that almost matched the sound of the bees and flies droning around my head, I was almost in a trance when the sound of hooves pounding down the dirt road began to rattle the ground. I looked up, startled to see a dark haired knight sitting astride the largest horse I’d ever seen. The ash-grey coat of the horse matched the steely grey eyes piercing into me, and the white tufts of fur matched the knight’s white livery.
Im sorry if you see this a million times im trying to see what time gets me the most interaction
dam…….. that website “you feel like shit” (it’s like a questionnaire / troubleshooting guide for when you feel like shit) really works………………….. im not even all the way thru it and i even half-assed a lot of the suggestions and i already feel loads better

The bell above the front door tinkles as it opens. A couple of off-duty soldiers blow in, carried by the frigid sea wind, their collars turned up against the rain. Cries of protest come from those standing closest to the door and it is quickly closed. The crowd shuffles to accommodate the newcomers, parting to create a clear pathway to the bar.

You might think that I'm joking when I say that we need cyborg rights to be codified into law, but I honestly think that, given the pace of development of medical implants and the rights issues raised by having proprietary technologies becoming part of a human body, I think that this is absolutely essential for bodily autonomy, disability rights, and human rights more generally. This has already become an issue, and it will only become a larger issue moving forwards.

A woman whose epilepsy was greatly improved by an experimental brain implant was devastated when, just two years after getting it, she was forced to have it removed due to the company that made it going bankrupt.
there is a MOTH in my room and now i will never sleep again
for all you writers out there:
donjon has tons of generators. for calendars. for demographics of a country and city. for names (both fantastical and historical) of people, nations, magics, etc.
this site lets you generate/design a city, allowing you to choose size, if you want a river or coast, walls around it, a temple, a main keep, etc.
this twitter, uncharted atlas, tweets generated maps of fantasy regions every hour.
and vulgar allows you to create a language, based on linguistic and grammatical structures!!! go international phonetic alphabet!!!
extract from my Viking romance wip
...
Eadfrith hushes the Vikingr gently, pushing loose hair strands from his sweat-slicked forehead. It’s the same comfort she has bestowed upon fever-stricken children, frail old men, women in labour, the near-dead and dying a hundred times over. There have been times in Eawynn’s own childhood when she too has felt the soothing touch of her mother’s soft and steadfast palm against her cheek during sickness.
Eadfirth looks the Vikingr over, eyes lingering over his arrow-bitten leg. It must have taken a great deal of determination to get away from his fervent pursuers. By design, the muscles in his thigh have contracted around the arrowhead – his leg is paralysed. It will stay that way until the arrow can be removed, and even then there will be a long and painful recovery.
