this might be a bit more fanon but I can imagine even when Diluc was having trouble referring to Kaeya as brother and still having issues with him in the beginning of the game, he would still get defensive whenever someone referred to Crepus as NOT Kaeya’s father.

someone says something along the lines of: well with Kaeya Alberich never having a father—

and Diluc goes: woah woah woah no. MY father was Kaeya’s father. Crepus Ragnvindr raised Kaeya.

like, no. Kaeya may have been a spy and a liar, and he may have never truly been Diluc’s brother, but Crepus was Kaeya’s father and there’s no argument about that.

Diluc did not watch Crepus take in Kaeya from the side of a road in a storm that nearly killed him, nurse him back to health, hold his hand through fevers, introduce him to Mondstadt, teach him Mondstadtian, eat dinner with them almost everyday and more, just for someone to claim Crepus WASN’T Kaeya’s father; or that Kaeya’s birth father was his only true father.

With the information he has to have in canon, there’s no way Diluc has a high opinion of Kaeya’s birth father. Kaeya was malnourished and traumatized, abandoned, had nearly died in that storm and would have if Crepus had not found him sooner, and now Kaeya was a spy and child soldier at around eight years old. While we don’t know much about Kaeya’s father in actuality, Of course when you compare this information to how Crepus treated Kaeya, there’s going to be a clear winner in Diluc’s mind

Taking in and raising Kaeya meant so much to Crepus, and Diluc knows Kaeya meant so much to Crepus. From the way he see’s it, no matter what issues he has with being Kaeya’s brother and Kaeya’s true origins and intentions, denying Crepus’s accomplishments and role as a father is a dishonour to Crepus’s legacy.

Final Note: This series really shows the character development he’s been through and how he became from an arrogant self-centered Olympian to the dramatic still a lil vain lovable dad/brother combo there is. There are so many things I can say about him but I think I already said what I can lol

The one thing I still dont understand tho is why Rick suddenly decided to put Kane Chronicles references in the last book and NevEr explained it(at least to my knowledge) and isnt it already the end of the PJO universe???? Like??? I don’t get it????

Things I notice about our favorite perfect Wonderboy,

(And yes Im gonna be dramatic abt this)

Call him rude names I dare u

But yes I do acknowledge he does have anger issues and that it is borderline concerning if he were to ever enter another relationship he may need to consider handling his emotions and anger better

I see comments on pinterest (cuz its all I ever use tbh) that he’s manipulative of Sophie’s feelings and I don’t know about this and there are times I think he has done that but I think it isn’t intentional and he would never mean to hurt Sophie in that kind of way

Alvar really pisses him off that’s for certain

I think in his early life (before Sophie) he has depended on Keefe for emotional support and so has Keefe so I definitely see the bromance

Most noticeably he’s more hung on about Cognates than anything really and Alvar

He actually does care what people think of him

And yes, before no he didn’t but that’s before he started blaming himself for permanently destroying his family’s reputation and respect

His family is a huge huge deal in the Lost Cities and to be tarnished due to Alden’s secret research, Alvar being part of the Neverseen, his two other children running away to join a rebellious group (as far as the public’s aware), being the only two Vacker children who ever attended Exillium, and the freaking Legacy; there was definitely a toll on him

Which is why he thought it was best he wouldn’t marry an Unmatchable in order to restore the family name

But Sophie going against Cognate stuff and not telling him who her mother was also had an effect in their relationship break

And that Sophie was really slowing the pace of their relationship

Which I don’t blame her for btw none of us really can

The Vacker Legacy

He loves his family but damn is their legacy a pain in the ass

Insult Sophie in front of him I dare u

Headcannon that he goes to his sister for love advice on how to help their relationship and she’s more involved than she’s comfortable with

Anger issues. Major major anger issues

Really really doesn’t watch what he says when he’s angry

His dad really spoiled him (I’m sorry but I dont think I like him very much)

Maybe a tad bit egotistical with him being the earliest to manifest (before) and being a very powerful Technopath at a very young age and ofc he’s a Vacker

He might as well have been the rich extroverted student council president of the school

And yes some of these aren’t very positive descriptions which is why I’ll end it with

He’s loyal. Incredibly loyal. His family, his friends, his Cognate, if they’re in trouble, expect he’ll be there for you when it counts; you might expect him to be really blunt and hurtful at times but he really doesn’t mean any harm and he does genuinely care about the people he loves and he makes it up to them even going as far as near-death which is most I can say for some people

Final Note: A perfect Wonderboy with a not-so-perfect soul is usually what I think of him. There are good qualities here and there and everyone has bad spirits in them and Fitz is no exception to that. Before I said pressure was Dex’s problem, Fitz doesn’t look so much affected by this because he’s been pressured all his life. Grades, appearance, his dad, everything really so he’s used to it.

He’ll have cause to reconsider his emotional issues eventually but to hate him so passionately I believe isn’t fair. But that does not mean I will not be defending his wrongdoings because he has made some mistakes but he’s also done just as much good. He stuck with Sophie when she had trouble fitting in, watching from a distance to make sure she wasn’t harmed and also allowing her to find her place in Foxfire (others believe he just up and abandoned her as a mission completed sorta thing when she arrived but I don’t think that’s the case), he was willing to risk his life to involve himself in dangerous missions and that was even before he realized Alvar was involved with the Neverseen

A lot of people may see him as an innocent introverted tech guy

But in the first book He LitErAllY MaDe StinA BAlD AnD GroW a BeArd

He’s even sassy to the CoUncIl

Say anything about his mom, his dad, his triplets and his friends you are close to dead to him

I think he’s a lot more pressured ever since he discovered he was a Technopath because it seems like his dad wants Dex to be a message that the Dizznees aren’t all as talentless and rebellious as they’re made out to be when Dex just wants to yknow....live his life, hang out with friends and not be pressured by the chains of society esp that he’s actually a really special Technopath

But he is actually rebellious (ThAnk you KeSlEr)

Says he doesn’t care what anyone says about him

And that might be true to some extent but I think he also does esp when his family and his friends are the ones judging

Has to live for a couple years knowing that one of his siblings are Talentless and can’t do anything about it

A loner

And not just in the sense he feels left out from the Keeper group but he kinda is tho

But also (most noticeably) Technopaths I suppose generally feel lonely speaking a language no one understands and thats just really sad

And to Dex haters: he WAS manipulated into making the ability restrictor and had no idea it was gonna be used on Sophie therefore It👏🏼Was👏🏼Not👏🏼His👏🏼Fault👏🏼

Has feel betrayed more than once

I think a lot of people (esp Black Swan and the Council) expect him to do great things at the age he’s in and he has but he’s definitely pressured because ALL of his friends and everyone expect him to make great things and figure out the technical stuff out to the point where if he doesn’t he just lets them down and they abandon him and becomes even more left out

Might have PTSD from France

Final Note: The last few books have been very eye-opening for his character both for his personality and his role in the Keeper group, in general. I believe everyone involved with Sophie (and ofc Sophie herself) and is known to be involved with her are pressured to be this hero saving the Lost Cities when none of the kids wanted to be in the first place and that in itself is bad so it’s no surprise Dex would feel this way as well

He’s insecure about his ability as a Technopath and that much is obvious, and whether he’s grown to appreciate it or despise it is unclear to me since despite the “happy innocent jokester” vibe he gives off he isn’t exactly a complete open book ever since he felt left out. It doesn’t appear he has any trust issues with anyone but my guess is that he now has a very strained and awkward relationship with his mother

I can tell though he’s going to a more open phase where he starts opening up and at least talking to others, I mean in the first book who would’ve thought he would be Biana’s friend? Or even start talking or teasing Stina? And he’s also learning from his mistakes. Things can be miscalculated, mistakes can be made, although I feel he doesn’t forgive himself, he still learns and adapts and that’s really admirable progress. I only hope I see Dex and not just as the Technopath who needs to figure the technical stuff out but more of Sophie’s best friend, the Regent, but this all could be a stretch lol

There might be disagreements and I’m completely fine with that and you should totally point it out if smth isn’t right I’m still gonna do more chrs tho so stay tuned ig😅😅😅😅

So I picked up on kotlc during quarantine after some reccomendations on Pinterest and I’m usually the type to want to know a bit more about each character individually so

Here are basically the things I like noticing about our favorite moonlark, Sophie Foster!!

Although she said that she much now prefers working as a team and with other people, her secretive works-alone side has shown no sign of ever actually dissapearing in the series so far.

Although she is normally optimistic towards her friends, in most of her inner monologues (esp in the first books) she is actually extremely pessimistic.

(Most noticeably) She has now developed a sarcastic sassy personality as a self-defense mechanism as pointed out by Cassius (I aint calling him a lord f*ck him)

(Idk if this is noticeable) I think in the whole group she has these sub-groups of people and depending on the sub-groups, the more or less they know or are personally involved in the events happening and yes I am including Team Valiant in these so called sub-groups

(Most noticeably) She plans, overthinks, and theorizes on a daily basis and when that happens, she tends to tune out everyone and everything around her to the point where the others are probably very annoyed by that (as seen from Dex and Amy)

“Fuck it” *continues to try very hard*

Actually feels very detached from the Lost Cities, as mentioned in Unlocked. Not sure if that would be plot-related in the future but is interesting to know

Even though her life is more on the Lost Cities I’m gonna mention some human things lol

Was actually bullied her entire life, both from skipping so many grades and from Amy

Prefers to live more in the world of movies, music, comic books, and books rather than people

(This is a bit more of a stretch and I mean a huge stretch) I think she has the ability to be manipulative if she needs/wants but is not intentional but again as I said a stretch

(Another stretch) Might have PTSD from her time in France and the shadowflux attack

(ThE OnE ThIng EvErYonE PrActiCaLlY KnOws AbOuT Her) Has insomnia

When someone compliments her she doesn’t believe it

Constantly second-guesses herself

As said by Keefe, she thinks everyone has a bad thought about her because even the closest people to her have said not-so-kind things and it wouldn’t be a stretch that others would have similar thoughts and as an instinct assumes there’s a negative thought and opinion about her always.

Final Note: One thing I notice about her more often than not that I also think is kinda a stretch is that she has more of an identity loss, it’s like she’s sort of at a lost on who “Sophie Foster” really is. In the latest books, she uses her Moonlark title as her motivation to win over the Neverseen but to me it’s also like she’s degrading herself like she’s overprotective, kind, smart, feisty, incredibly determined and trustworthy. It is no joke she will sacrifice her life for her friends in a heartbeat. But I think she believes that as the moonlark with her multiple abilities, she could win this without seeing that all the qualities that also make her Sophie Foster has gotten her this far as well

This is also one of the reasons why I don’t normally join the shipping war between Sophitz and Sokeefe because I want her to know who she is first, to achieve the sense of normalcy she’s been wanting since Day 1, to know who she really is aside from being the leader of Team Valiant, the leader of the Keeper group, the experiment of the Black Swan and all that.

I also think this is a stretch because obviously her friends, basically everyone has contributed in helping her achieve the normal she has now and her identity as Sophie but it’s been one of my first observations (Its almost a guess at this point) since the first book and I thought it’d be okay to point it out.

I usually have more and might do other characters soon but I like doing these kinds of stuff and I really love Sophie so yeah thanks if any of you actually see this lol are there other things about Sophie that’s more or less hidden but is also kinda obvious?

My dad isn't the best dad in the world. He's flawed and we fight a lot, and most of it is because of our financial situation. He's the sole earner of my family but things haven't been looking up for us the past few years. It is one of the reasons why things have gotten as bad as it is now- I should have known that he's hidden his illness for a while now because he doesn't want to add more debt into our family burden just because of a "small cough", especially with the pandemic.

It turns out, he has pneumonia and high glucose blood levels. The pneumonia made a hospital reject giving him first aid care this Monday (22/3) despite his COVID tests showing up negative because they were "incapable of handling a possible COVID patient" due to the fact that my dad's lungs x-rays had signs of infection on it. Keep in mind that he has a high fever and isn't even able to walk or go to the bathroom by himself. They didn't even provide a sufficient IV drip for my dad or a fitting oxygen mask. Monday night we brought him home in hopes of treating his sickness at home because we couldn't afford any other options. At 1am, he woke up from his sleep at home and puked. We brought him to an ER 30 mins away that told us on the phone that they would take a patient with possible pneumonia as long as their COVID-19 test come out negative. When we got there, they just stood there for 20 mins looking at my dad convulsing in the car before rejecting to give him care after I showed him his lung results. I begged them to at least give him first aid but they told me condescendingly that if my dad passed away, they wouldn't be liable. So I went home in tears.

Tuesday 6AM my dad went into septic shock. Money be damned, I called an ambulance from a private hospital that informed me they would take possible patients despite them having COVID or not. I thought that my dad could get the first aid help and then later be admitted to a normal room, but when the medics arrived the first thing they told me was: he has to be put into an ICU.

I have just recently resigned from my job due to high risk of COVID-19 exposure, and both my mom and my sibling are unemployed. We've asked for friends and family for help, but it's just not enough given that we don't have an insurance and an ICU room costs $1k/night. As we're living in a third world country, no medical action will be taken before we given if we don't pay first. We've used up all of our penny to the last drop to keep my dad plugged into the ICU machines and keep him alive to this daym

As of right now, he's fighting as hard as he can to keep his body alive. He's doing his best, and I know I should do my best too. I've ran out of options.

His eyes.

Those light brown eyes he thinks are so plain and boring when it paled in comparison to her black. It was the color of the earth. The way when sunlight shone on it gold flecks surrounded as if it held an entire sunrise all by itself. She smiled, vividly remembering the day he smiled at her. The day she truly noticed it. She picked up her pen and started writing.
