I don't think I've talked about it directly bc Nanna is My Main Character(tm), but something I also think about a lot is why(conflict aside) the polycule works specifically with Zevran and Leliana. Because it is a matter of who they are as people outside of Nanna.

Zevran completely on his own sees Leliana struggle with her past and guilt around it and she's one of the few in the group he initiates being kinda real about it without deflecting, and Leliana explicitly understands his complicated feelings surrounding leaving the Crows and Taliesen in particular. Zevran is the only one she tries to connect with via her work as a bard without trying to hide behind something else. They work as a trio because, even outside of Nanna, between the two of them they get it.

#as much as i adore origins they didnt dig into the group relationships as much as I wish #but they laid the groundwork for these two having a particular understanding and that has stayed in my mind #and I think that's also why Zevran—even when he explicitly disapproves—still understands why she can't fully break away from Justinia #he literally had to kill taliesen to fully cut ties with the crows. and its because *he's* grown that he can see where she slips #anyway i'm rambling i think about htem more than i let on
