Maman Brigitte, Powerful Healer
Maman Brigitte! Of course, the wife of the Baron, keeper of the cemeteries, protector of women...these are the things she is most known for. One doesn’t see quite as much written about her being a powerful healer. In Haiti, many years ago, I learned about calling upon her for healing. Band-aids, aspirin, and other first aid items are often seen on her altars there and are great offerings to use if you are petitioning her for healing. Aspirin is the favorite offering for her around here. Our aspect of Maman, simply put, just loves an aspirin. :-) So, if you have an altar or want to make an offering to her, besides the usual rum and hot peppers, try leaving her some aspirin. Ask for her healing blessings! She will hear you. Ayibobo!

The Lwa Road Less Traveled
Way, way back in 2010 we did an online Voodoo Conference. I was looking back through some old files and ran across this PowerPoint presentation that I used at the conference. We tend to become comfortable in Voodoo. We love our good old regular lwa! Who doesn’t love to work with Papa Legba? Or Ogoun? Or Erzulie? Or Damballah? Or whomever your favorite lwa is!? That is natural, normal, and perfectly wonderful.
However, there are some lwa out there that maybe you don’t know about or maybe you don’t know how to serve. Below is a link to a little primer on perhaps some new lwa friends for you. You can never have too many lwa to work with, right? :-)

Where’s Your Duck?
"Getting your ducks in a row is not nearly as powerful as actually doing something with your duck." Seth Godin
Besides some pretty funny imagery that comes up when reading that quote, it really rings true with me with some of the good folks that I speak with during consultations. Very often I will ask, "what of our magickal products do you have on hand to work with?" I am trying to find out what they already have on hand that might help the situation for which they asked to consult me on.
So pretty often the answer is candle magick kits, or a voodoo doll, or some oils, etc. Surprisingly, many of the items that they have are ones that they have never used despite the fact that they already have on hand the very things that could have helped them! Their "ducks" were all sitting in a pretty row, neatly packaged, in the back of a closet, or in a drawer, or in a box under the bed.
What are you doing with your "duck?" Are you experiencing some issues, problems, concerns with your case? Do you have candles, incense, oils, doll, laying around unused? Pick them up! Dust them off! They are there to help you!
Remember, also, your caseworker is there to help you! If you have www.spellmaker.com products laying around that you haven't used or stopped using, please consider picking them up again. Don't just sit around accepting the things that might be happening to you, especially if you have the tools already there to help you! :-) Your caseworker can help you tremendously in putting together a program of usage for the things you have!
