#Repost @babels_cameron ・・・ #REALtalk ...📢 Since touching back down in CLE, so much in our community has changed. I've been faced with apprehension over whether or not to resume creating brand features --- which seem in part gratuitous and tone-deaf at a time such as this --- whilst still searching for some semblance of normalcy in proceeding to advocate for craft on this platform. Over the past few days, in accordance with statewide mandates calling for bars, restaurants, breweries, bottle shops, and the like to terminate all on-premises sales (or restrict alcohol sales altogether), a great number of my friends in the food and beverage industry are out of jobs. With event cancellations, travel restrictions, and industry-wide limitations stretching well into the coming months, my own projects have come to an unprecedented halt, and for the first time yesterday --- in reading the pleas for help from those laid off, the business owners both temporarily- and permanently- closing their doors, those forced to liquidate inventories, and those now struggling to provide for their employees, their families, and themselves --- I cried. I asked myself, how can I help? How can I best continue to advocate for the vast number of breweries, bars, restaurants, and shops I've come to insistently support, while myself being largely restricted to my own residence? And moreover, what can we ALL do? #howtohelp ...🧾 Having contemplated this for the past few days, I cannot TODAY, encourage this enough: PLEASE continue to support #craftbeer --- and the entire food and beverage industry --- for as long as you possibly can. Continue to purchase to-go food and packaged beer from breweries. Many are still operating and tendering off-premises sales; even so much as offering convenient online pre-orders and curb-side service. Purchase merchandise when available, purchase gift cards (-for future use), and tip graciously. Rather, tip ENORMOUSLY. For those still laboring in fully-functioning offices, corporations, hospitals, and other large facilities, PLEASE consider purchasing group lunches, coffee, etc. from local restaurants, small roasters, and neighborhood shops...
