I lived and worked in a lighthouse at a previous job.  There was a thick line painted in a circle around the shack where the fog signal was kept.  The line represented how close you could get to the fog signal without experiencing physical harm in the form of eardrums shattering or worse.

Even in the house it was LOUD.  Probably the loudest thing I have ever experienced but at a normal, predictable interval.  You would begin to time your sentences with little pauses with the rest of the lighthouse crew so you would talk like this while making your………..HORN…………. tea and then carry on talking because you knew when it would go off.  It rattled the walls and the dishes in our cabinet.

At least one girl had died there. They kept photos of her everywhere “in honor of her sacrifice” because she had decided to take the winter watch alone and died in a storm where bounders the size of mini vans had been lifted out of the ocean and left scattered across the island, to say nothing of the ice chunks.  People weren’t allowed to be alone on the watch after that.

One day a dead moose washed up on shore and it took my entire crew all day but we managed to rig up a line to hang it up to dry because we thought having a moose skeleton in the house would really spice the living room up a bit.  It did.  Weird shit happens when six of you are left alone, like ALONE ALONE, no cell reception, no wifi, just a radio to contact the real world and not a lot of reason to do that.  People don’t go on lighthouse jobs if they want to stay connected, I’ve found.

That said Id do it all again, I really do treasure those days

Luke on mandalore charming all the baby animals & din crashing out cos how can someone be so cute & sweet at the same time (luke keeps trying to keep a respectful distance, the baby animals do not appreciate this). Obv Din figures out the best way to seduce the himbo jedi (not that Luke needs much, hes head over heels already) is by just plopping down on his lap & refusing to move & sadly asking “you don’t want me near you?” a lil manipulative when luke gets flustered & tries to make distance

There is a comic with Luke wanting to pet all the animals on a planet so this is right up his alley. He wants to pet them all. He wants to hug and hold them and smoosh his face into their bodies. He stares at them with absolute longing because he just wants to pick them up but he does want to be able to scoop them up. They want to be scooped. But he must be respectful! He must!

But they won't let him be and will just come up and squish him, keep him pinned with their bodies and big eyes. Luke can't do anything when it's their choice! He really can't!

So, yeah, Din sees this and gets a perfect idea and instantly will just use his bigger body to smash the Jedi and proclaim he needs a nap (as he truly does--the man is always ready for a nap) and use his version of puppy eyes (though his brown eyes are potent as well) and well, Luke really can't argue.

Din gets to cuddle with Luke and gets his hair stroked and now he is a very happy Mandalorian.

Part 1???

The premise for this idea is that Simon ends up in Grace's biodome, but specifically as the mutated tree (because magic) and he needs to consume human blood in order to transform back into a human. Cue the associated angst of needing human blood for survival.

Also the whole "when the last son of Eden joins the grove"

Congrats Simon you are now become the last tree of Eden, but this time you're not trapped in a blood ocean. yaysies

I might actually write a fic surrounding this - or continue drawing the comic, I'm not quite sure yet. But this seemed like a fun premise to play with.

are you a teenager? do you wish you had the space & resources & organization to do a thing, whether that's an anime club or a movie night or a big craft workshop or creative writing group or literally whatever? would you like to do your thing totally for free? yes?

okay, then bring it up to a librarian

seriously, teenagers are the absolute hardest group to engage at most libraries & we'll often organize programs that absolutely no one will show up to & it sucks. if you go up to a public librarian & say "hey, some friends & i want to do this thing. does that sound like a feasible teen program for the library?" most people will move heaven & earth to pull it off for you because we know there's an interest in our community. we will go balls to the freaking wall to make it happen

do you want a cosplay contest? a video game tournament? a free escape room? bring it up to the library. it's not a burden or an annoyance at all. it'll be like christmas came early for us
