Decided to finally draw Felassan after saying I would for almost a full year haha

I didn’t like his depressing, slicked-back, man-bun in DAtV so I gave him a braid instead; pretty boi has to pretty boi. The only time I think he would wear that slicked back man bun is if Mythal did it herself like a mother would for her teenage son before prom or for church.

Rook Week 2026 ↳ Day 2: Heritage

"So, why Sylaise?"

Rosella glanced over at Davrin, confused for a moment until he gestured towards her left eye and the vallaslin that curled over it.

"Oh." She brought her hand up almost unconsciously to touch it, her fingertips just grazing her skin. "It ... I don't really remember my birth mother's face. I was too young when she died. At least, I think she died. I remember her singing to me, and I'd like to think someone who did that wouldn't abandon their baby. But her face is kind of a blur in my memory, apart from her vallaslin. She had Sylaise's. I remember the pattern of it."

A smile curved over Davrin's face. "So you got it to honour her?"

"Yeah. When I was travelling with Varric we spent some time with a Dalish Clan. They had taken in some of the former slaves I helped get out of Minrathous, which I think made their Keeper feel generous. I asked her about the pattern I remembered on my mother's face, and she said since my mother had been Dalish, I could wear the vallaslin too, if I wanted. So she did it for me. I'll never know what her name was, what Clan she came from, what happened to her. But at least this way I feel like I can hold on to some small part of her and her heritage."

Rosella dropped her hand, brow furrowing into a faint, melancholy frown as the few vague, amorphous memories she thought she remembered of life before the Mercars had found her rose to the surface. After a moment Davrin reached across, lacing his fingers with hers and squeezing gently.

"I'm sure she'd like that," he said.

Meeting his gaze, Rosella gave a small smile and nodded, squeezing his hand back. "I hope so."
