Whew! This was the hardest thing I ever animated; all done by hand over ten frames, then reversed and looped. It's pretty easy to morph one thing into another thing, but it turns out it's very hard to morph one thing into negative space and have the whole thing tile seamlessly.

My good friend Jon Morris and I have been doing short Halloween comics together under the title "BOO! Halloween Stories" every October for well over a decade now. When we started out it was just me and Jon cranking out a ton of stories on our own, and then I got real busy for a few years and Jon took the helm of BOO!, and he had the great idea to invite a lot of other writers and artists to contribute. In recent years it's been a great, huge mix of talents and styles. I've just started on my BOO! pages for this year, and it inspired me to go back and look through some of my stories from recent years. This one is maybe my favorite I've done, and it’s a good one for summertime.
