Slay the Princess is a horror-comedy and romance visual novel where a ~mysterious narrator~ (Jonathan Sims) tasks you with slaying the a princess (Nichole Goodnight) before she ends the entire world.

But will you trust him? Will you trust her? Can you trust anybody?

The demo has about three hours of content, so if you'd like to check it out, you can download it from Steam and itch. And don't forget to wishlist the full game!

To further elaborate, if it’s of interest to anyone, RenPy supports opengl so you can write fullscreen effects for your RenPy game in GLSL! I actually didn’t know this until I was approached about recreating the manually animated boil effect processed on the CPU with a procedural one processed on the GPU in order to improve performance. Thank you very much to Black Tabby Games for the opportunity!

at the beginning of The Great Ace Attorney when they were talking about how Kazuma's katana was his soul, given established precedent with Ace Attorney mentors who get chumped immediately after the tutorial, i was sure this was where the game was goin with that.

In this version of the story, Kazuma is still driven to discover the truth about his father's death 10 years prior, but rather than being part of some assassin exchange plot with convenient amnesia, after death by wacky happenstance he gets the Mia Fey treatment. He then tries to keep a good attitude while watching his best friend who didn't even care about law or Britain going on to do everything he'd been dreaming of while he's stuck as the "assistant." You could still have the swerve of him being beholden to Stronghart if it had something to do with getting his original body back or whatnot...that would be the leverage Stronghart has over him rather than the confusing 11th hour explanation that it all had to do with some international treaty about diplomatically immune assassins.

I loved GAA and it's my favorite set of games in the Ace Attorney franchise, but I do feel that Susato was a bit of a wasted character. They proved she was just as capable or moreso than Ryunosuke, yet she's perfectly content just chillin' on the sidelines, even as the text itself calls attention to the inequity of the situation. Seems like a missed opportunity to not explore that a bit more.

Dogpit Anime Club watched Endless Waltz and that got me to thinking, which childlike despot would win in a fight, Mariemaia or Koenma? Mariemaia is at a disadvantage in Spirit World cuz Koenma could just send her to ultra super hell the way we saw him do to Younger Toguro, so the only chance for a proper throwdown would be in Living World. his physical body is like 6’ tall but she’s got that feral gremlin energy, shed beat his ass easily it wouldnt even be a fair fight. probably kick him in the shins then strangle him with his own extraneous cape and/or bandana while he’s down. no way a 700-year-old who just looks like a child can match the diabolical cunning of a genuine seven-year-old
