I'm really interested in Daisy and Garth. They kinda have June and Nick's energy together.

We're glad you've found an element of The Testaments to enjoy. From the little we've seen, there are some similarities there. That working rebel dynamic is achingly familiar and makes us sad that the show didn't explore it more in-depth with Nick and June. Their humour, the protectiveness, and Daisy finding Garth a safe space also reminds of of Nick and June's energy. Hopefully they continue to work together and you get to see more of them!

It certainly amuses us that the pairing from the book (Daisy/Nicole having a crush on Garth) is translating forward to a more natural dynamic on the show even if it's not romantic on the show. Margaret Atwood sure seemed to know what she was doing, eh?

Meanwhile the forced attempt to recreate Osblaine with Agnes/Hannah and Garth is falling pretty flat. There isn't a whole lot of chemistry there and it really feels so hollow in comparison to the greatness of Osblaine. Just goes to show that forcing things doesn't work and that letting your characters lead results in more compelling stories, like what exists with Garth & Daisy and Agnes & Becka.

Ik Jason was a really good kid. That part matters — a lot. He was smart, driven, probably made honor roll. He loved being Robin. For him, Robin was magic — a chance to help people. He wanted to, and did, do a lot of good.

But I also think it's important to remember he was still a teenager. Teenagers do stupid shit. Jason wasn't an exception to that — and he shouldn't have to be. He made rash decisions, and went against Batman’s moral code in the comics. And so have all the other Robins. The difference is, they got to grow out of it; Jason didn’t.

We flatten Jason’s character when we reduce him to just the "angry Robin," but we’re also flattening him when we swing too far the other way — turning him into a perfect martyr. He was a kid with good intentions, a big heart, and a short fuse.

Jason should be allowed to be complex. He should be allowed to be wrong, to make mistakes, to be reckless and still be good.

If you think about it the relationship between Bhaal and a resist!Durge is basically that Hollywood trope where the dad is like "But son! Football is your dream!" and Durge is like "No, dad. Football is YOUR dream." Except instead of football, it's genocide.

I had this idea - out of the batkids, who'd have the most scars?

Bruce is obviously the all-round winner, followed by Jason. I know the Lazarus pit gets rid of scars and so any injuries he got before then, he's lost, but Jason strikes me as such a reckless guy who never gets proper medical care when he gets stabbed or shot in all the alleys he's stalked in Gotham that he'd quickly rack up scars and get second place. (Also I think he'd have autopsy scars, but that's a post for another day)

Next contender would be Damian. I think, given his year of blood, despite having Ra's care, he would still rack up quite a lot of scars, more than Dick.

Then Dick: not because he doesn't have experience, but because at some point after Jason's death, he'd become a lot more cautious about taking care of himself, for Bruce's sake. If Bruce lost another kid, or another child got crippled, he wouldn't be able to handle it.

And finally, Tim. Because he's a wee bit insecure and believes that compared to the other kids, his strength is with his mind, rather han his body, and his fight style would reflect that. Stealthy, quick, not at all brawl-like.
