Blog Review: The Green Tree House
In this fast paced life where everything happens in a rush and things just pass by, sometimes you need to slow down, unwind and take time to breathe. One day, I felt the urge to do these things, and good thing I found Green Tree House on Airbnb. I love Airbnb. It's my go-to app in searching unique places whenever I want a staycation
The moment I saw Green Tree House's thumbnail on the app, it easily caught my attention. I would say it's love at first sight. Imagine, sleeping in an air conditioned tree house, how cool is that? I browsed its photos back and fort and the next thing I know, I'm already booked. Our staycation here is part of our (me and vince) pre-birthday celebration. Another thing that made me book it right away is its location, it's just in Kalayaan Homes in Subic, 20-30 minutes away from Bataan. It's very convenient and very accessible.
Let me give you a nice tour to the place through my photos. Scroll down for more pics.
As you can see, it's just small but what I love about it is that it's very cozy. I feel like I'm just sleeping in my own room. The place is so quiet and at night and all you can hear is the sound of the insects in the forest. The rainy weather and the cool forest breeze added a more comforting and relaxing feeling during our stay.
When you go up, the first thing you'll notice is that unique red bath tub. It looks like a big pail, it's deep and has a shower head so you can obviously take a bath there. Don't worry, it's secluded and no one can see you, just the trees, birds and insects.
There's also a hammock, chair and tables where you can chill, read a book and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. This is also where our breakfast was served. During night time we stayed here and enjoyed a breath of fresh air, a little chitchat and unwinding while finishing a bottle of beer and some snacks.
Inside you will notice that the walls are all hand painted, it's all personally made by Ms. D's (the owner) daughter, Barbie. She's only 14 and this tree house is her girl and art club area. The decors and other interiors are mostly salvaged and recycled from tub to wood. There's a comfy foam good for two people, an air con and some reading books, coloring books and coloring materials that you can use to keep yourself busy. There's no TV inside but that's okay. Their wifi is surprisingly super fast.
The toilet and bathroom is located downstairs (the one with a hanging bicycle decor). It's kinda hassle if you are a type of person who pee all the time but for us, we don't mind going up and down every time. It's another kind of exercise and I like it 🙂
The next morning, they served our breakfast on time, the time I requested which is 9:30 AM. All the breakfast are personally cooked by the owner. We loved the Spicy Tuna Casserole and the hot green tea. We we're supposed to try their brick oven pizza but it was raining hard that day so the owner cannot use the outdoor oven.
This property is owned by a Brazilian who is married to a Filipino. The Treehouse is just beside The Brickhouse which is also for rent. It's perfect for families and big groups compared to the Treehouse that's just perfect for couples. Beside it is where the owner and her family lives.
Ms. D has been so accommodating during our stay, she welcomed us and also said goodbye before we check out. Her assistant is also nice and kind. She even toured us around the place and catered my concerns.
For me, this airbnb accommodation is one of a kind. If you are looking for a unique and relaxing experience. This listing for you! Never thought I would enjoy sleeping in a tree house and i've never seen a tree house as cozy and homey as this. I feel like I am not in Subic at that time, I am transported in a different world because of the vibe and ambiance of the place.
I would definitely recommend this for couples. Our stay is like a quick retreat for both of us. We feel refreshed after and we both enjoyed it. Great value for money. Two thumbs up! I can't wait to be back and try their other properties that's soon-to-open. I'll keep you posted about it
