Scott Weiland at The Paramount in Huntington, New York. August 11, 2013
On July 25th Tegan & Sara teamed up with The Human Rights Campaign, also known as “HRC” to headline a benefit concert at The Paramount in Huntington, NY. HRC is the largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans. The event was hosted by Amanda Leigh Dunn from The Real L Word.
While playing a great mix of old and new songs, the duo had taken time off from their sold out summer tour to play this show. After ending their 45 minute set with their newest single “Closer”, they announced that instead of doing an encore, they would be doing a Q&A with the audience. Although The Paramount is very big, this show was very intimate, especially while the girls were answering questions from the audience.
Immediately following the Q&A, The Jane Doze, a New York DJ duo took over and turned The Paramount into a dance club.
For more information on HRC and how to get involved, please go to www.hrc.org

Courtney Love at The Paramount in Huntington, NY on June 29, 2013.
Courtney Love is currently on the road and recently took the stage at The Paramount in Huntington, NY. The ever controversial Queen of Grunge walked onto the stage with a cigarette in mouth. The band, which is not at all Hole, quickly broke into “Plump” and “Miss World”. Courtney announced that her drummer, Scott’s parents were in attendance and had everyone cheer for them twice, as the first time wasn’t loud enough.
After completing “Skinny Little Bitch”, Hole’s first single off their 2010 album,Nobody’s Daughter, Love handed the crowd roses and shouted to all the photographers “Hey, you guys are supposed to be done now! Leave so I can take my shirt off!” To my surprise, and I’m sure the other fans in the crowd that night, she appeared composed and carried a smile on her face the entire show.
Love seems to have phased out the angst-ridden part of her career to make room for healthier days. However, she still hasn’t lost her sense of class when she said “Ever feel like you have to burp, but you can’t? Well, I had a little tequila, don’t judge”, Then proceeded to press on her chest and burp, ending that by calling it sexy. Whether you love or loathe her, at 48 years old she can still entertain a crowd while singing/screaming Hole’s biggest hits like “Celebrity Skin”, “Violet”, “Doll Parts” and much more.
