Welcome everyone to the first ever Birds & Bees week for the MLB x DC crossover fandom run by yours truly!

The Birds are a predominant part of the fandom, and we all know that the Cat and Bug are too. However, there is a special little group that has been gaining attention lately and we would like to give it a proper spotlight!
The whole goal of the week is to create for Chloe, Zoe, or Karen Beecher (most will know as Bumblebee)! They are our main buzz.
Creators are free to go ahead and submit pieces early if they would like. This can also be used after the event as well.
Feel free to do any ship, even if they are not part of our main buzz. Try to keep one of the themed characters as a follicle point in the piece though! (It is a bee focused event after all.)
Please use the tags listed on Tumblr and any Ao3 pieces can be submitted to both Maribat Birds & Bees and Maribat Birds & Bees 2025! Tag the Menagerie as well to get your pieces reblogged!

Bruce is always prepared, even for the event of his death. Sadly he has friends prepared for those plans, but his family is not.
Zoé Lee finds herself on both sides for that event, she’s read his careful instructions, signed the papers, and now here she is. She didn't think she’d be here so soon.

For The Birds & Bees week 2025, March 9th’s prompt: Robin. This fic wouldn't have come to fruition if the Maribat Menagerie hadn't hosted it!
Hello! The @maribat-menagerie is hosting The Birds & The Bees, being held from March 9th to March 15th. The week is centered around Miraculous’s buzzing blonds: Chloé Bourgeois and Zoé Lee! And DC’s very own Bumblebee: Karen Beecher!
Since I don't know Karen’s character that well I choose to still give her love by drawing her with the girls! This week is Karen and Chloé hanging out!
I just want Marinette and Billy Batson (Captain Marvel HIS NAME IS NOT SHAZAM PPL) to get together is that so much to ask? Think of the possiblities!
First up: Bruce Wayne Bio! Dad AU
Just think of how terrified Billy would be to meet the newest Wayne daughter who’s the same age as him
And surprisingly she’s not trying to kill him and she’s really sweet
And they bond over the strange magic they both possess!
Imagine the shock on Marinette’s end if she met him as a hero first though, I mean some random adult acting like a child?! Great kwami, what the hecko gecko?!
Then imagine them beginning to date, Bats and the others are already sharpening their weapons because hey- billy fooled the entire league once! He’s not getting near little Marinette
If Billy makes it out he’ll then introduce Marinette to his own foster family and she’d hit it off with everyone there and everyone will just be shook because there’s a Wayne in their house
Sneaking past siblings on both ends
I want a scenario where someone knows one of them in the couple is a Wayne but they don’t know which one and so they assume it’s Billy because he looks like one and he’s broody and jerky enough to be one
After a while bruce low key wants Mari to keep going out with Billy because he’d be the perfect new Wayne
Next up: Mari goes to Philly AU!
Marinette moves to Philadelphia post Hawkmoth with her parents
She goes to Billy’s school and meets Billy
At first she doesn’t like him but she gets along with Freddie and likes his other siblings who attend their school
Billy and Mari get paired up on a school project and have to hang out after school
They both sense the magic on each other but don’t say anything about it to the other
Mari realizes maybe Billy isn’t so bad
Billy’s foster siblings try to set Mari and him up
Shenanigans ensue
Fredrien AU:
Adrien introduces Mari to his boyfriend Freddie
Marinette has dinner with Adrien and his boyfriend’s family
Adrien and Freddie already knew Billy and Mari would be a perfect match so they scheme to get them together
Double dating fluff
Freddie realizing his boyfriend is a superhero and freaking out
Billy realizing his girlfriend is a superhero and freaking out
Marinette isn’t surprised by anything anymore, so she doesn’t freak when she finds out her boyfriend can magically transform into an adult who has some of the power’s of Thor
Marinette as Ladybug pulling Captain Marvel by his ear (even though he’s significantly taller) from a fight and berating him for putting himself in danger
Billy drinks his respect women juice everyday and of course loves that he has a girlfriend who could kick his ass
Thunderbird AU:
Billy has run away so much that his next foster home ends up being in Paris
He goes to DuPont and secretly on the side plans when to run away next
Marinette meets him and immediately likes him (and gains a crush)
Billy doesn’t notice he’s too busy being a jerk™️
Ladybug finds him during an akuma attack and gives him the miraculous of thunder and lightning
He becomes Thunderbird
He’s so good that Marinette makes him a permanent hero
Chat low key thinks Thunderbird is hot but he ships him with LB
Billy finds purpose when he’s Thunderbird and decides not to leave Paris until Hawky is defeated
He starts being less of a jerk at DuPont and starts crushing on Mari
The entire class, save Lila, Chloe and Sabrina, try to get Mari and Billy to confess to each other
Since LB chose Billy, Mari knows his identity and she (as a civilian) talks to Thunderbird a lot
Billy and Mari finally start dating
LB accidentally starts talking to Thunderbird like how she talks to Billy as Marinette
Billy is confused as to why LB is flirting with him when he has a gf so Mari confesses her identity
Eventual defeat of Hawkmoth and maybe just maybe Billy decides to stay in Paris for good
It may be from over 4 years ago, but Billy/Marinette deserves more love, attention and respect. The Adribat side really wants to see Freddy/Adrien (or even get spicy and swap the ships for Billy/Adrien and Freddy/Mari... Mary is always an option too)
Bringing this back up back Captain Marvel is an underrated character in the fandom. There is a fun mini roster to work with.
Perhaps it is time to take a page from Constantine's book and summon the demons back to revive this part of the fandom

They were six.
Talia hummed softly — symphony, Beethoven’s, fifth — as she ran a comb through Kagami’s hair, smoke-black strands and perfumed oil slipping through the needle-fine teeth with all the cold, liquid grace of water.
Setting down the bejeweled comb on the vanity, she smiled at Kagami in the mirror, scarred but still smooth, brown skin, crinkled green eyes (hers were a different shade than her father’s, more like the jade beads sewn into her dress than emeralds) and a toothy almost-human smile (that, too, was different, Ra’s smiles looked like they were carved into his face by the enchanted knives he was so proud of, flesh peeling away from his bones in her imagination, ichor — not blood, because Ra al Ghul was no mere mortal man, he was a god — staining his clothes and his teeth and his footsteps that she and Damian and Talia before them tried so hard to follow).
Kagami’s reflection smiled back when she didn’t. She and Damien shared a smile separate from the rest of his family, not the one they gave each other when they were together, but the one that gave other people when they were apart: something that wouldn’t be out of place on Titus’s face, more a bearing of teeth then an actual grin of mirth, something happy, but a bit crazed, something that promised direct and immediate retribution if they were not brought back together as immediately as possible.
The clash of their opponents’ swords striking against Damian’s own shook up her arm.
The bright, pricing ache of a limb abruptly dislocated.
They both ignored it.
“You look beautiful.” A prompt.
“Not as beautiful as you.” The only answer she was allowed to give.
“What do you want today? Pins or combs or clips or knives?” Kagami wanted none of them. Kagami wanted to cut off all her hair and be done with it. Kagami did not want to spend hours in front of the mirror with Talia or an assortment of ever revolving handmaidens (Damian never learned their names, but Kagami did, even if she never used them, preferring to hoard pieces of information in case she ever needed to use them in the future, manipulation and feigned compassion went far here, even farther coming from her, the princess-consort) being made pretty for the Demon’s Head and his Heir and the rest of the League. Kagami wanted to be viewed as a weapon first, not Damian’s prize for good behavior and than what she was. Kagami didn’t want anyone to touch her hair, not unless they were Damian, not unless they were her.
“I want the knives.” Most like her claws, most like her talons, they had a familiar weight, a comfort to her in her human form that the others lacked.
Talia hummed again — symphony, Beethoven’s, ninth — and brought her hands to rest on Kagami’s shoulders, fingers wrapping gently around her throat, thumbs placed to the point where her pulse beat.
Equally both a loving caress and a threat.
“Are you certain?” She was.
“I think you look best with the hair pins.” Impossibly thin, impossibly long, they were as sharp as the needles and syringes that belong to the compound’s only doctor.
“And I have a rather good suspicion to think that Damian agrees.” He did. He said that he liked them best of all that she wore to put up her hair because they matched her eyes, gold like dragons-fire and inset with pieces of precious, polished stones called amber.
“But I want the knives!” Screaming, crying, kicking at the hand-carved legs of the vanity, fighting against Talia’s hold until she was free from it. It was horribly childish, but Kagami was allowed to act childish at times. She was a child. Wasn’t she?
A backhanded slap across the face was enough to stall her tears, the wounds from Talia’s sharpened nails drawing blood.
“Listen to me, asghar dumya. You will wear the hair pins without complaint.” Talia did not seem angry. Talia seemed afraid.
Afraid of what, was the question. If Kagami had to venture a guess the answer to Talia’s fears was the same as it always was, as all their fears were: her father.
“He’ll view it as an insult, won’t he? If I wear knives so soon after he has lost his?” She mentally scolded herself for not putting the prices together sooner.
“He’ll view it as a threat.” Talia corrected, helping her up from the floor and shoving her arm back into its socket. “And we both know what he does to this he finds to be threats to our home.”
He eliminated them.
She wouldn’t stay dead for long, of course, she never did, she was the League’s dragon, was Damian’s wife, but she still didn’t want to have to drag them out of the waters of the Lazarus pools anymore times than necessary, it genuinely would be in their best interest for Kagami to fold, to be made weaker in order to survive throughout the day.
Despite herself — and, in no small part, for Damian, he liked the hairpins, after all, and in some ways didn’t that make up for her distaste of them? — she relented.
“The pins will be acceptable.”
“I’m glad to hear that.” A script.
“I’m glad to be saying it.” Her line.
Talia excitedly clapped her hands together and re-settled Kagami on the bench, hands fluttering like moths to the marble table-top. Her fingertips ran over the sharpened, golden slivers of metal before picking them up again.
Damigami feeding the soul. The fact that there are puts glasses on 9 total Damian/Kagami pieces on Ao3 is a sin that needs correcting. Especially when you consider that it is a side ship for a couple of those.
Keep up the rarity work OP! Writings rarities a task only the bravest face and make it out alive from.
I am going to share this project because this is all I have so far and I’m giving a ✨makeover✨™ one could say. I’ve only ever shared in the Maribat Menagerie Server if my memory serves me right. So they’ve seen it’s progression and my insanity.
If anyone ever wanted a look into what happens in the discord server, this is the best one thus far.
How did some of these come about? Only the ocean and I members know or have any ideas as to how. It is possible some names randomly appeared in chat like Wormby.
Also, Mae has done a wonderful job keeping up with the fun names we conjure up in there. Major props for doing this for us.
Reminder: These are fun names created in the Menagerie and do not need to be used by the fandom, but we would love to see them used!

One of our trinity of rarities here at the Menagerie as an event that been run since before our conception, Bio!Dad Bruce month!
"Well wait... doesn't that say Maribat Bio-Parent Month not Bio!Dad Bruce?"
Yes Liiri-eyed reader, you are correct. Previously, it was focused on Bio!Dad Bruce. However, the amazing runner and mod Anju has expanded it to encompass more of rarity category that is enjoyed by many of us. Huge thank you to them for that.

PeaBat (Emilie x Bruce) is the first that comes to mind. When I got into Miraculous x DC, one of the first fics I read had Emilie and Bruce as a couple.
Other ships I think would be fun to explore:
Heartless Moon (Nathalie x Selina, the name coming from the meaning of Sancouer, heartless/without a heart, and Selina, moon).
Archer Bee (Artemis x Chloe)
Wonder Wasp (Cassie x Zoe)
Cobra (Jason x Luka; listen listen!! Snake with a hood. That's a cobra.)
Ooo these are some fun ships. Peabat and Heartless Moon are needs not wants. I adore the ships with Chloe going with "Bee" and Zoe as "Wasp" without any discussion. It just was an unspoken agreement.
All of these deserve to exist. The names alone are reasons to get people to create for them and Artemis as well as Cassie deserve more attention in the fandom.

Fandom Discussion/Poll:
Should 'Mirabat' be adopted as the fandom name for MLB x DC?
While the original poll is not quite over, it had a solid majority of fandom goers either say maybe or yes. Thus, this is being asked a little earlier than a week later.
The general consensus, amongst conversation on Discord and in reblogs on Tumblr, is that "Mirabat" would be the name that fandom goers believe would work best. The biggest reasons being the following.
It keeps the spirit of the original name
It is not that different from what the fandom is used to
Preferred the sound of it over other options
As a last topic before the poll, let us briefly discuss the other options given for names.
MiraDC could be adapted as the subsection name for all pieces that do not fall under Maribat or Adribat ship wise
Miraculous DC would be an amazing addition to the tags used on Tumblr to cover more bases of what a newcomer to the fandom may search
Once again, it is up to the fandom to give their thoughts on switch. Reblogs and replies are always available to do so to understand other's opinions on it.
Reminder: "Maribat" is not being discontinued.
It will still be used regardless of what the fandom chooses. It may simply shift to being the umbrella name for Marinette ships only versus all ships/pieces.

After a year of “retirement,” I am back with this event! And with a few changes.
For starters, unlike in previous years, this event will be taking place in June, three months earlier than its usual month of September.
Wanted to spruce the event a little bit with its comeback :D
Second, just like it was mentioned in the return announcement, we’re opening the event to not just Bio Dad! Bruce but to all characters from both the ML universe and DC universe!
That’s right, all characters!
Use this month as an excuse to write that Mominette idea in your head or Bio parent! rogue idea and whatever else your heart desires (and would absolutely consume)!
Aside from these two changes, the event will run just like usual, with a bit of a twist.
The event will run from June 1 to June 30, each day being a different prompt.
But what’s the twist? We will also have a bingo card!
Each square in the bingo card will be a different character, having characters from both DC and ML characters. The goal: try to get a bingo by doing as many different types of bio parents prompts!
Of course, you are not obliged to do the bingo card but it’s just there for those who want to challenge themselves.
With that said, you can participate in as many or as few prompts as you like. There is no minimum nor is there a limit! Want to make art or just write a concept post? A playlist? Go for it! All types of contributions are welcomed!
Alongside the prompts on the calendar, we will also have ten other prompts you can substitute in for any prompt that doesn’t quite call to you.
With that said, the event prompts will be posted some time in late January so be on the lookout for those!

What do you want to see happen within the fandom of MLB x DC in 2025?
With the new year knocking at the back door, it is a great time to come together as a fandom to see what members are wanting more of, what to leave behind in 2024, or what new things can be given a try.
2025 is the Chinese New Year of the snake so getting more Luka pieces would amazing!
Here's a few potential thoughts
Luka decides to work for the local theatre and becomes the composer of the music for the ballet
Luka meets the Wayne family while touring with his father
-> Either as a way to not reveal Ladybug and Chat Noir's identities then gets help from the Bats to deal with Hawkmoth
-> Or Bruce got a recommendation to have Jagged perform
Marinette/Luka split (on mutual terms or not is up to you) then end up dating within the new team
Luka is a guitarist for The Great Frog (Roy's band) and Cass meets him through Jason or Steph
Su-Han takes Luka to the League of Assassins while training
Hopefully those help spark creativity to help give the confessor more content to consume!
