dealing with the worst case scenario
your condom breaks
you feel a lump on your breast
your friends are ignoring you
you’re stranded on an island
you got rejected by a crush
you get into a car accident
you got stung by a bee/wasp
you got fired from your job
you’re in an earthquake
your tattoo gets infected
your house is on fire
you’re lost in the woods
you get arrested abroad
you get robbed
your partner cheated on you
you’re on a ship that’s sinking
you fall into ice
you’re stuck in an elevator
you hit a deer with your car
you have food poisoning
your pet passed away
you fall off of a horse
you or your friend has alcohol poisoning
you have toxic shock syndrome
your house has a gas leak
I feel like this could be useful in my future
REBLOG THIS. I CANNOT STRESS HOW IMPORTANT THIS GUIDES ARE, BOOST THIS SHIT
If I don’t reblog this one of these things is definitely going to happen to me
Roses are red, that much is true, but violets are purple, not fucking blue.
I have been waiting for this post all my life.
They are indeed purple, But one thing you’ve missed: The concept of “purple” Didn’t always exist.
Some cultures lack names For a color, you see. Hence good old Homer And his “wine-dark sea.”
A usage so quaint, A phrasing so old, For verses of romance Is sheer fucking gold.
So roses are red. Violets once were called blue. I’m hugely pedantic But what else is new?
My friend you’re not wrong About Homer’s wine-ey sea! Colours are a matter Of cultural contingency;
Words are in flux And meanings they drift But the word purple You’ve given short shrift.
The concept of purple, My friends, is old And refers to a pigment once precious as gold.
By crushing up molluscs From the wine-dark sea You make a dye: Imperial decree
Meant that in Rome, to wear purpura was a privilege reserved
For only the emperor!
The word ‘purple’, for clothes so fancy, Entered English By the ninth century
.
Why then are voilets Not purple in song? The dye from this mollusc, known for so long
Is almost magenta; More red than blue. The concept of purple is old, and yet new.
The dye is red, So this might be true: Roses are purple And violets are blue
.
While this song makes me merry, Tyrian purple dyes many a hue From magenta to berry And a true purple too.
But fun as it is to watch this poetic race The answer is staring you right in the face: Roses are red and violets are blue Because nothing fucking rhymes with purple.
Hirple - To limp or walk awkwardly
Cirple - An old Scots word for the hindquarters of a horse
“Roses are red, violets are purple,
My boner for you has caused me to hirple.”
…
My, how romantic!
DYING. I AM DYING.

Top tips for your first year at college or university!!
I started university in September 2017 and I have just finished my first year, starting university can be extremely scary, exciting and confusing so here are my top 5 tips on how to survive and excel in your first year!
1. JOIN A CLUB!! (OR SOCIETY)
This is one I 100% recommend, surprisingly there’s not actually that much work to do so you’re going to get bored. I wasn’t planning on joining any clubs or societies when I went to university but I ended up joining the netball team and I’m so happy that I did. (I’m going to make a full post about university/college clubs within the next couple of days so if you have any questions make sure to send me them and I’ll address them in that post)
2. MAKE MEAL PLANS
If you are moving out for university or college regardless of cooking skill I can guarantee you that you’ll soon get into a rut of eating terrible junk food snacks instead of meals. I would get home at 8pm from a netball game and just eat a chocolate bar and go to bed. (don’t judge me).
About 4 months in I decided to do somehting about my new eating style. I planned my meals for the week ahead and STUCK TO IT, this meant that it was easy and cheaper to do my weekly shop and if I knew what I was meant to cook it usually motivated me to actually cook it.
3. DONT WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT IMMEDIATE FRIENDSHIPS
It’s easy to think that you have to make friends on the first day and stick with them the entire year, this is not the case at all. Don’t worry if you’re 1 month in and still have no friends, although it’s not ideal it’s not the end of the world. I met so many people that I hung out with for like 1 week at the most and only met the people I’m now close friends with after about 3 months at university. Honestly don’t worry about it too much everyone is in the same boat as you and usually you can just go sit with someone and say “hi” and they’ll be grateful.
4. DONT MISS ANY LESSONS
This is one that I kind of don’t stick to myself I think I missed about 5% of my lessons this year which is quite good actually but please stay motivated throughout the whole year, my neighbour in the room next door went to university already ready to leave, even on the first day she was so negative about being there. In my opinion, you should go to college or university with a positive mindset, excited about what’s to come don’t write it off before you even try it.
5. DO YOUR READINGS
Please look at your course content before you start lessons and learn some basic knowledge. Higher education is very focused on independent learning so if you don’t know anything about something in your course make sure you have a general understanding of it. This just makes following your lessons so much easier.
And there we go, that is all! I hope you enjoyed and be sure to share your own tips. Don’t forget that Bella’s class is now in session and I’m doing 10 days of posts so make sure to come back each day to see what’s new!! Please request posts as well as I’m always out of ideas.

06/30/18 👻 So this year I graduated with honors from high school and now I’m aiming at entering a Uni in Germany so I do really spend a lot of time working on my German. The first exam takes place on the 11.Aug so i still got plenty of time. Though it’s really depressing that I will need to abandon my previous live.

Quick Tips for Relieving Stress
1. Go for a walk around the block – and even longer if you have the time.
2. Make faces in a mirror to reduce the muscle tension (and the chances are it will make you laugh as well).
3. Stretch – and loosen the muscles in the shoulders, neck and jaw
4. Make a thankfulness list.
5. Find a place to withdraw from everyone. Five minutes on your own can really make a world of difference!
6. Turn off your phone and any message notifications.
7. Switch off the inner critic in your head.
8. Look for humour in the situation.
9. Have a cup of herbal tea.
10. Eat a banana. It increases your levels of potassium (which are depleted in times of stress) and gives an immediate boost in energy.
may 24th, 2018 had a pretty shitty day but still managed to do most of my to-dos ☕️
How to Feign Your Life is Together
Have a signature accessory, clothing article, make up look, or hair style.
Have a fragrance. Make your hair scents and lotions match your perfume.
It’s okay to dine alone. Bring a book or people watch.
Love your hair. Research the best brands for your hair type and use masks weekly.
Your nails don’t need to be fancy, but keep them maintained.
Stay worldly. Know works of art, artists, designers, films, books, politicians. Spend your lunch break reading the paper or a magazine.
Crying is not a weapon. It’s okay to feel your emotions, but never use them as an excuse to avoid your problems.
Jealousy is boring. Love and appreciate others. If you can’t love them, forget them.
Boost others. Flatter others, but don’t deprecate yourself in the process.
Don’t sulk. Don’t let the whole world know your problems. If you don’t want someone to give their opinion, don’t share your situation.
Your life is between you and the universe. Don’t post your personal matters for others to see.
Don’t emotionally blackmail others. They hurt you? Let them know and then move on. It’s between the two of you and not the world.
Cook dinner. Cook dinner and listen to music, the radio, or a podcast.
Treat yourself to candles and flowers. Be your own cheerleader.
Take naps. Take a cat nap on a Sunday afternoon with the blinds open and the fan on high.
Drink your water, eat your vegetables. Take care of your body.
Never have time to take off your jewelry before bed, but always have time to take off your makeup. Your nighttime skin regime is important.
Mystery is beautiful. You don’t need to reveal much of or about yourself.
Never appear other than as you are. Don’t lie about yourself. Embrace who you are at your core.
With exams and the end of the year approaching yet again, I hope this little guide to relieving stress will make you feel better and can help you out!
Listen to music. It’s simple, brief, and probably the most common suggestion on this list. Music can be incredibly soothing and relaxing, so here are a few tracks you can listen to (all on YouTube):
Quiet Mind
Sleep Deeply
Echoes of Time
Relaxing Music & River Sounds
Try yoga. While not for everyone, yoga combines poses, meditation/relaxation, and breathing, and is often extremely calming. It also improves overall fitness, and you don’t even have to leave home to do it! Here are some yoga apps you can use:
Yoga Studio (iOS - $3.99)
Daily Yoga (iOS, Android - Free)
Pocket Yoga (iOS, Android - $2.99)
Simply Yoga (iOS, Android - Free)
Drink some tea. Having a hot drink is always relaxing, and different types of tea can be incredibly helpful for different reasons. These are a few you can try, depending on how you’re feeling:
Lavender- good for reducing anxiety & aiding sleep
Passionflower- aids sleep, lowers blood pressure, reduces anxiety
Lemon Balm- helpful for insomnia, heartburn, and cold sores
Green Tea- includes antioxidants and improves memory
Go for a walk. Taking a break from whatever’s stressing you out is very relaxing, and it’s an easy way to get a little exercise. It also prevents excessive sitting and helps your memory.
Take a nap. Sleep can take your mind off anything, and it’s incredibly relaxing and revitalizing to sleep a little! Here are the few types of nap you can try:
10-20 minutes: A power nap which will increase your alertness and energy
30 minutes: Increases performance and tiredness in the short-term, and won’t interfere with nighttime sleep
60 minutes: Improves factual memory, such as with names, facts, and places
90 minutes: A full cycle of sleep, improving creativity and procedural memory
Don’t forget to give yourself a break occasionally! You deserve it. Good luck this year, and I really hope that some of this comes as a relief.
