“Born into the wrong body”. That body is you. You are your body. There is no way to error the sex of your body as a fetus. You were male or female before you were even a zygote. You weren’t born into the wrong body, you just think your body is wrong. There wasn’t a bunch of baby bodies lined up and you accidentally became the wrong baby. Also, you are born your “true” self, that male or female version you dream of is an aspiration of who you want to be not actually you.

I'm doing a HP reread (in German because I need to practice my German), and Chamber of Secrets strikes me as prophetic, in a sad bad way. The plot point about Ginny and Riddle's diary is a perfect depiction of internet grooming, written in 1998, when widespread social media use wasn't really a thing yet. Of course grooming relationships, as a form of abuse, already existed, but the possibility of confiding your intimate secrets to a faceless stranger in writing, and then having that stranger control and minipulate you, wasn't remotely as much of a realistic risk to random 11-year-old girls as it is today. Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can't see where it keeps its brain is absolutely a moral for the 21st century.
