Haven't used my Tombow Brush Pens in a while so I decided to use them like watercolors to make this sunset piece. The video was really long so before I started I wrote out Sunset with a thick tip crayola marker, then I went over it a couple times to make it really thick. Then on watercolor paper, I lightly traced over it with pencil. Next I filled in the word with the tombows, I left a little space at the edges and between the colors so I would have room to blend them. Mandala Tutorial Video Part 2: Coloring the mandala using the @procreateapp! I paste the mandala from the clipboard into a new procreate file. Then I alpha lock the layer and using the cloud brush I color it in kinda in sections with different colors. I turn the opacity all the way up at the beginning and then turn it down when I go over it a second time and kinda blend the edges of the colors a little bit. I like the cloud brush because it makes a cool pattern when you overlap the colors, but you could use any of the airbrush or texture brushes, just whichever one you like best 😄 Then I filled in the background with black but you can leave it white or change it to whatever color you like. That's it, pretty simple! Mandala Tutorial Video Part 1: Drawing the mandala. I use the #amaziographapp on the IPad Pro with my Apple Pencil. I start by creating a new 2-mirror kaleidoscope then adjust my grid (under the circle icon on the top right). I adjust it to 6 sections but you can leave it at the default 9 if you want more repeating sections. I use the smallest size pencil tool and start in the middle and work my way out. I don't really have a set plan when I make these so I just start drawing until I like what I see. I zoom in and out and erase quite a bit since it's a lot of trial and error on what looks good. When I feel like I'm mostly done I go back in with the paint bucket tool and fill in random sections to give it some depth. Once I'm happy with it I copy the image so I can color it in the Procreate app. You can use different color brushes in the amaziograph app but I prefer to use black and then add color later. When I export (from the presences icon on the top right) I make sure the 'export raw images' button is on, this will leave the white space in between your lines black so you can recolor just the black parts. Then I go to 'share and print' and copy the image and that's it!! Sorry this was so long!
