"NO!" (Lucie to Sigfrid)
Send “NO!” to watch my muse get fatally stabbed.
Sigfrid had been too slow to react when a sudden burning ran through his side near the ribs. His eyes widened while he looked down to the sword that pierced skin and flesh. It dripped heavily from the wound. Then he looked up to see who was the culprit.
It seemed like a quiet day for shopping. Normally, she and Hikari ate at the headquarters with all the recruits and officers, but sometimes they managed to get permission for her to go out accompanied to buy some extra things so she wouldn't always depend on that prison-worthy food. Plus, she had to buy clothes for Hikari, who was growing up too fast.
She was walking down a less frequented street in search of a boutique she used to visit. It appeared that only one man was walking along it, but suddenly she became aware of the presence of another person who approached at full speed to stab him.
"No!" Lucie shouted, dropping the bags she was carrying. The man looked at her, and when he saw her Marine jacket, he clearly mistook her for an officer and ran away. Lucie hurriedly approached the stabbed man. "Oh, my God, there is never a calm day on the blue sea! Hold on!"
He couldn’t recognise the one who held on to the sword and had no idea why this person would do such a thing. Had he flirted with a woman that was out of his reach? Was there some strange grudge towards him he was unaware of? It could be the person was out to take his stuff but was scared off since another person showed up while screaming loudly. The stinging became worse as the sword was quickly pulled out of the wound. Sigfrid let out a groan and placed one hand where the sword had pierced his skin. It didn’t take long until his hand became wet and crimson colored. Shit. Fucking hell. He had to find a doctor or something.
“Bastard!” Was about the only thing he managed to say while the attacker ran off. Then the woman approached him with her worrying words. At this point he was more pissed off than worried. If only he had paid more attention to his surroundings and taken out his rapier. What a disgrace. “What an asshole. This coat was new!” He grumbled with annoyance before taking a good look at the stranger. From her worried expression to the coat she was wearing. Oh crap. The Marine. Fucking hell. What if she recognized him as the missing bride from Wano from those disgusting posters? Those posters his mother had spread out to bring him home for the arranged marriage… “Um. I’m fine. This is nothing. I can handle this.” @marine-engineer-lucie
Lucie hesitated whether to try to help him. She stayed at a safe distance even though she had run towards him. She knew that some people in this world were dangerous and she had been told a thousand times not to get close to anyone.
The man refused her help. Lucie looked at him with wide eyes and then she realized that his face looked familiar. There were only two options.
Lucie approached him and looking at him closely said "listen to me, your face sounds familiar to me and there aren't many options about that, but I'm just a naval engineer and I have an injured person in front of me" she snapped "so my question is, "Can you get medical help from the navy or will I have to do first aid on you myself?" @swordduels
Should he try to run for it? Getting away seemed like the best option. Though he had no idea what she was capable of. She could be one of those devil fruit users. There were some crazy powers one could have. He had seen people using freezing powers or sending fireballs to crush a whole town. A little sword wielder like himself was nothing against something that dangerous, yet. Sigfrid noticed the way her eyes widened. Crap. It seemed like she recognized him from somewhere. Carefully he stepped backwards. Though he stopped as she spoke up. An engineer? Was this a trick to put him at ease or did she tell him the truth? “Well, I might just have one of those faces.” Sigfrid became quiet as she tossed out the question. Fuck no. Stepping into the navy was not an option. As soon as his mother got the news he could no longer travel freely using his chosen name. She would make a spectacle about the missing child coming home. Her so-called daughter. Eww. He could just imagine her smug face and iron grip on his shoulders. “How good are you at first aid?” @marine-engineer-lucie
((Sorry for being late: explanation here. I understand if you don't want to keep writing this thread))
Lucie grimaced when he asked about her first aid skills. Everything pointed to him being sought after by someone, probably the navy. If that was the case, it wasn't surprising that his face sounded familiar; they had made him study so many faces...
"I think I can get you through this, but you need to know one thing," Lucie approached him with a rather aggressive gesture. "If your face is familiar to me for what I think it is, they shouldn't see me with you under any circumstances. If anyone sees me helping you, I'll pretend I have no idea who you are," she pointed at him accusingly. She had no problem helping him, but she didn't want any trouble.
She looked around. Not far away was a store. Perhaps she could get some fabric and a needle to sew and bandage the wound, but she would also need to disinfect it.
"I'm going to that store to get supplies for your treatment," she pointed to where she was headed, to reassure him. She didn't want him to think she was going to fetch the marines. "I won't be long."
He was honestly more worried about being outed than getting killed by the navy. Though from her body language and harsh demeanor it was more likely she viewed him as a pirate. Fair enough. Her conclusion wasn’t surprising with the way Sigfrid was acting. One day he had to learn the art of lying without stuttering or running his mouth with enough word salads to open a salad store. “So, are you actually gonna help me?” Sigfrid backed a few steps while wincing in pain as she stepped closer. “Well. You don’t really know me so it wouldn’t be a lie.” He muttered but made no more attempt to get back at her. It would be stupid to bite someone who was trying to lend him a helping hand. On the other hand Sigfrid wasn’t sure how much he could trust someone who worked with the marine. His odd pair of eyes followed her pointing finger. As far as he knew she was heading at the opposite end of town. Away from the marine’s headquarter. It was somewhat reassuring but she could still take a turn to fetch some marine personnel further ahead where he wouldn’t be able to see her. But what else could he do? This town was filled with people who could easily end his suffering or turn him in for a hefty reward. “Right, go ahead. I’ll try to not piss off someone else.” @marine-engineer-lucie
Lucie raised an eyebrow, wondering if the boy was really going to wait for her or not. In any case, it wasn't her problem if he decided to run away with such a serious wound. She went to the store and, as if she were the admiral of the navy himself, made everyone move to make her purchase first.
She quickly left and returned to where the boy was, a little surprised that he was still there. "I'm really not lying when I say I don't know you. I'm not from here. I'm from Skypiea. Most of the dangerous faces I know are from wanted posters I've had to study," she shrugged, not even knowing if he would recognize her island. There were some other cases Sengoku had made her learn about at the time, but she was incapable of remembering so many faces, especially when she wasn't in charge of arresting anyone. "I'm the head of maintenance; I have nothing to do with the soldiers and their arrests. I just repair ships, sometimes I go on missions with the admirals, but my only duty remains repairing the ships and minimizing damage."
She hoped that explanation would be enough for him. She really was supposed to report if she saw someone wanted, but most of the time, she preferred to act like she hadn't noticed. The navy's wars were not her wars "ready for treatment?"
