Do you have Trust and Curiousity headcanons? It's really hard to find any, so thought I might ask you.
Sorry this took so long to reply to! It took me a little while to compile a good amount of headcanons to make a post with, but I finally did it. Some of these are strictly my own, a couple I’ve adopted from other people. I hope these are something like what you were looking for. ^^
- Both Dipper and Ford are ambidextrous, with Dipper slightly favoring his right hand and Ford favoring his left.
- Dipper eventually stops wearing his hat when around Ford entirely. If there are other people around, he’ll put it on, but when just Ford is nearby, he feels comfortable enough to leave his birthmark exposed.
- After Weirdmageddon, Ford and Dipper begin to co-author a new series of journals together to replace the ones that were destroyed.
- If Dipper does not end up taking the apprenticeship right away, he and Ford still keep in touch over email and video chat, and talk pretty much every other day. They maintain an ongoing, long distance Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons campaign too.
- Dipper introduces Ford to online MMOs, and once he gets used to the interface, Ford takes to it like a fish to water. He and Dipper play together often, and occasionally Mabel, Soos, and Wendy will join in as well.
- For birthdays and holidays, Dipper sends his great uncle his favorite sci-fi and fantasy books that Ford missed out on during his time in the portal. Even though he might be busy with his research, Ford always finds time to read them and discusses them with Dipper in detail later on. Dipper is normally given curious objects that Ford’s found over the years - like a gobblewonker tooth strung on a cord for a keychain, or an odd glowing stone that levitates when over water - or inventions that he’s made that are suitable and and safe enough for practical use.
- Once Dipper learns that Ford can play the piano, the two of them have the occasional jam session together on their respective instruments. Dipper (and Mabel, from time to time) has also been steadily working on introducing his great uncle to the 3 decades of music he’s missed out on, and is utterly delighted to find that Ford’s developed a liking for Babba, too.
- Ford teaches Dipper to make fireworks one summer for the Fourth of July because it’s easier than trying to find a place that will sell them to him (still working on getting his faux criminal record cleared with the authorities and all that). The end result was spectacular, in more ways than one. They have henceforth been banned from ever setting off fireworks in a 2 mile radius from civilization ever again on pain of getting themselves and everything they own sprayed with the garden hose.
- And this isn’t a headcanon, per se, but the song that always reminds me the most of their relationship is “Who Better Than Me” from the Tarzan Broadway musical OST. I just always get the biggest grin on my face when I listen to it with them in mind. :D
