PRIDE MONTH LETS GOOOO 🏳️🌈🦅
So I was listening to the Dr. Feelgood album and I just started thinking:
• David on lead vocals, Paul on guitar, Dwayne on base, & Marko on drums
•Okay maybe once and a while they’ll let Laddie play tambourine cause he brings in the ladies/dudes for them, Paul’s one “great” idea
• I’d imagine Star doing vocals for a few songs
• MICHAEL IS THE GROUPIE
Am I psychic or am I psychic? (I was wrong about two things but whatever)
starting off pride month with one of the best coming out scenes in television history 💕

Always you
Warnings: mild angst, jealousy, emotional vulnerability, kissing, lots of feelings.
Word count: 1.1k
You met Eddie Munson in fifth grade.
He had been sitting alone at lunch, loudly explaining dragons to himself while drawing in a spiral notebook.
You had asked if he could draw you one.
He blinked at you like you were a hallucination.
Then he drew the coolest dragon you’d ever seen.
And that was it.
Best friends.
⸻
By high school, it was just understood.
If someone was looking for you, you were probably with Eddie.
If someone was looking for Eddie, he was probably with you.
You sat next to him at Hellfire meetings sometimes, even if you didn’t play. You just liked listening to him get dramatic about dice rolls.
He walked you home more nights than he’d admit.
You shared headphones on the bus.
Shared fries at lunch.
Shared secrets you never told anyone else.
“You’re stuck with me forever, you know that?” he’d say casually, tossing an arm over your shoulders.
“Unfortunately,” you’d reply.
But you always leaned into him just a little.
⸻
The problem with being best friends that long is that sometimes things change before you realize they have.
You noticed it first when other girls started noticing him.
When he leaned back in his chair and laughed, hair falling into his eyes, and someone at the next table whispered, “He’s kind of cute.”
You didn’t like that.
At all.
But you didn’t know why.
Because Eddie was yours.
Not like that.
Just… yours.
Right?
⸻
Eddie noticed it when you wore a dress to a school event and someone else asked you to dance first.
He pretended not to care.
He made jokes.
He flirted dramatically with someone else just to prove a point.
But when you laughed at another guy’s joke across the room, his chest tightened in a way he didn’t understand.
“You good?” you asked him later that night.
“Fantastic,” he said.
You narrowed your eyes. “You’re lying.”
He smiled. “You know me too well.”
That was the problem.
You did.
⸻
The tension built quietly.
In moments that lingered too long.
Like when you were both sitting in the back of his van, music low, rain tapping softly against the roof.
“You ever think about the future?” you asked.
“Constantly.”
“Like what happens after Hawkins?”
He leaned his head back against the seat.
“I used to think I’d just disappear somewhere. Start over.”
You looked at him.
“And now?”
He turned to you.
“Now I can’t picture it without you in it.”
Your breath caught slightly.
He didn’t seem to realize what he’d just said.
Or maybe he did.
And was pretending he didn’t.
You swallowed. “We’re best friends. Of course I’d be there.”
“Yeah,” he said softly.
But his eyes said something else.
⸻
The breaking point came because of something stupid.
It always does.
You were at a party you didn’t even want to be at.
Eddie was outside with you on the porch, both of you pretending you weren’t people-watching.
A guy from your math class came up.
Started talking.
Too close.
Laughing too loud.
You weren’t even flirting.
Just being polite.
But Eddie’s jaw tightened.
When the guy finally left, Eddie scoffed.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“No, what?”
He shook his head. “You don’t have to pretend with me.”
“Pretend what?”
“That you don’t like the attention.”
You stared at him.
“Excuse me?”
“I mean— you were practically glowing.”
You stepped back slightly.
“Why do you care?”
He hesitated.
Because that was the question, wasn’t it?
Why did he care?
“Because,” he snapped, frustration finally leaking out, “you deserve better than some random idiot who just wants to show off.”
“And you don’t think I know that?”
“That’s not what I—”
“You don’t get to act like you know what’s best for me.”
“I’m your best friend.”
“Exactly.”
Silence slammed between you.
The music from inside felt distant.
Your chest felt tight.
“Say it,” you said suddenly.
“Say what?”
“Why it bothers you.”
He opened his mouth.
Closed it.
Ran a hand through his hair.
“Because I don’t like it,” he muttered.
“Why?”
His eyes snapped to yours.
Because I love you.
The words were right there.
Terrifying.
Raw.
“I just don’t,” he said instead.
And that hurt more than if he’d yelled.
You nodded slowly.
“Okay.”
And you walked away.
⸻
You didn’t talk for three days.
Which, in your world, felt like years.
No after-school hangouts.
No late-night phone calls.
No sitting together at lunch.
Everything felt wrong.
Empty.
Eddie lasted exactly seventy-two hours before he snapped.
He showed up at your door late one evening, knocking too loudly.
You opened it slowly.
“What?”
He looked wrecked.
Nervous.
Which never happened.
“I can’t do this,” he blurted.
“Do what?”
“Pretend.”
You froze.
“I tried,” he continued. “I tried telling myself I was just being protective. Or dramatic. Or stupid.”
“Eddie—”
“But I’m not stupid,” he said softly. “Not about this.”
Your heart pounded.
“I don’t like other guys looking at you,” he admitted.
Silence.
“I don’t like when you laugh at someone else the way you laugh at me.”
You couldn’t breathe.
“I don’t like the idea of you leaving Hawkins someday and not taking me with you.”
He stepped closer.
Voice shaking slightly now.
“Because I’m in love with you.”
There it was.
Out in the open.
Heavy.
Real.
You stared at him.
“You’re my best friend,” you whispered.
“I know.”
“And if this goes wrong—”
“I know.”
Your heart was racing so fast it felt like it might burst.
“You’re it for me,” he said quietly. “You always have been.”
And suddenly, all those small moments made sense.
The jealousy.
The tension.
The way your stomach flipped when he touched you.
“You’re an idiot,” you said softly.
He blinked. “That’s not the reaction I was—”
You grabbed his jacket and kissed him.
Harder than you meant to.
Because you’d been holding it in too.
For months.
Maybe years.
He froze for half a second.
Then kissed you back like he’d been starving for it.
Hands hesitant at first.
Then certain.
When you pulled away, both of you were breathing hard.
“You’re in love with me?” you asked quietly.
He nodded.
“You’ve always been in love with me.”
He gave a small, sheepish smile. “Yeah.”
You shook your head.
“You’re such an idiot.”
He laughed softly.
“But?”
“But I love you too.”
And that smile he gave you then?
It was brighter than any stage light.
He kissed you again.
Slower this time.
Softer.
No fear.
No hesitation.
Just you.
Just him.
And years of friendship turning into something deeper.
Something stronger.
“I guess we’re stuck with each other forever,” he murmured against your lips.
You smiled.
“Unfortunately.”
He grinned.
And this time, when he wrapped his arms around you, it wasn’t just best friends anymore.
It was everything.
Hope you enjoyed!

I think what makes The Lost Boys such a classic and bizarre movie is it's like, four movies at once.
Michael and Star are in some kind of 80s teenage angst coming of age drama where the angsty teenager goes out to find himself but finds trouble in a gang of no good bikers who tempt him with alcohol and drugs and fast cars but-- oops, the twist is they happen to be vampires. And that's like, already odd enough.
Sam and the Frog Brothers are in a movie i call Help My Brother's A Vampire? (The question mark is part of the title.) It's probably tv movie, probably on Nickelodeon, and its a comedy about kids fighting a mean vampire who they think turned their brother as hilarity ensues. Of course , this is a kids movie, so the brother isn't a vampire hes just ...idk in a play or something, and everyone hugs and promises to be a better family in the end. It's definitely a Cult Classic among 80s and 90s kids, you see it every Halloween.
(actually, the Frog Brothers THINK they're in a third movie called Rambo Meets Dracula, but they are not. It's one of the things that made Help My Brother's A Vampire? so bizarre.)
Lucy's in a third movie. She's in a slice of life, Lifetime movie about a mother ending an abusive marriage and starting a new life with her two weird, but well meaning sons, as she finds a second chance at love, finds herself and navigates the rocky shores of motherhood.
Grandpa is in some kind of Andy Griffith esque sitcom about eccentric people in a small California town, holding to their old fashioned ways while the modern world creeps in, like it or not. The Widow Johnson is probably the main charecter, he's a recurring guest spot, the eccentric taxidermy man from next door who the audience applauds for every time he walks in an episode.
And as these four movies drift further away from a movie you expect to see a vampire in, vampires appear in all of them. Not necessarily the vampire that would make sense in those movies, either, this weird biker gang that want to be in their own movie SO BAD but they're in THIS movie. So by the end the four movies have collided and all the movies are wrecked and there's just VAMPIRES places there shouldn't be, Grandpa delivers the final line, and you can almost hear the I Love Lucy laugh track kick in.
And I love it.
btw it's so fucking stupid you can be anxious physically in your body even after you've decided mentally you don't care. I'm supposed to be in charge here
