SPOILERS FOR POPPY PLAYTIME CHAPTER 5
Hey hey guys!!! Just finished watching the entirety of Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 "Broken Things", and boy oh boy do I have things to say!
Okay, let's just get the things I thought of it outta the way,
I loved the gameplay and looks! Hated the fact that 90% of it is just puzzles and stuff. But, the Prototype design is lowkey epic even tho I thought it would be scarier, but it's so good and plays so well with what he does, because he's a jester, he mimics others, and he is deceitful, and it's quite impressive on how the Doctor (I can't remember much now from Chapter 4) made him to be so well designed despite it being in the 90's or sum. The plot twist of the Prototype actually being Elliot Ludwig's son is so coolio, as well as the fact that Ms. Playtime is the adoptive sister of Oliver.
Found the reveal of Lily Lovebraids (or sum) being Ms. Gracie and how the Smiling Critters/Nightmare Critters turned her into a toy (ig???) and how she went a little coo coo crazy after that really interesting, and how she died was so freakin funny. And the fact that the doctor is actually alive could be figured out in chapter 4 as he did say he buried himself in a deeper part of the facility.
Now, it time for the actual theory.
In Chapter 6, we continue off on where we left, with the Doctor and Giblet.
Giblet, Doctor, and we make a temporary truce with the Doctor, as we all three want the Prototype gone.
The Doctor possesses our little star thingy, Glowby in order for us to talk while his actual form is still in the data base.
We do more puzzles. Our main antagonist is the Prototype of course, and we don't really see too much of him but hear of him.
With the help of the doctor and Giblet, we devise a plan to kill or dismantle the Prototype, and the moment we try to execute it, The King, Elliot Ludwig tells Oliver, giving us a lower chance of fully surviving. The moment we finish the plan, The King tells us to meet him in the lobby, having his own pet toy bringing us to him (possibly a plant-based toy) that previously tried to attack him, and when they bring us to him, it's revealed he's a chess piece type toy, and we (the player) finally talks after so long, asking him what does he want. He responds by saying "What I want is my children back. Give me Poppy and Oliver, and I'll let you go freely. I do not care on how damaged or destroyed both of them are, I will fix them. And you are not to say anything to anyone. If I overhear that you have, I will bring chaos to the entire world out there. Playtime will continue to work as normal, I will make toys for the world outside, the more you stay quiet, the more I'll give you. Now, it's time to get to work. Chop chop!"
After he says all of that, the toy who is considered his "servant", hits all of us with poppy gas and makes the doctor unconscious for a bit, and we are back in the depths, since we know where the Prototype is due to the fact that we destroyed him (couldn’t kill him, only could desmantle him), but when we reach him, he already half-fixed himself, so then he attacks us, but he jumps the Doctor first, because he knows that he’s the brains of the operation, so he destroys Glowby, making the Doctor go back to his form in the computer, so we have to dip and then grab the Doctor, find another vessel for him to control and bring him back to where we were, now the prototype has fully put himself back together, so we have to find a way to knock him out or convince him to go with us to find his sister, and that’s exactly what we do. We tell him that his dad wants us to bring him to him and his sister, so he doesn’t miss the chance to feel fully loved by his dad, so he reluctantly brings back poppy out of her case but she’s not there!! So, we have to go on a search party, the Prototype being more agitated as he goes. While we look for her, we get to learn more about the doctor, and the prototype’s background/lore. When we finally find her the Prototype is of course the one who finds her first, and quickly greets her with anger and hostility, but also remembers that she is his sister so he lays back on the attacks because he damaged her enough, and we explain to her, yada yada yada, we come back to The King and he sets us free. We get an epilogue of what happens next.
The epilogue is basically just saying on how we survived and lived on with life, how Playtime.co gave us a deal to bring at least 10 people to the facility yearly, and we will be able to live on with the protection of the Toys.
And that’s my theory!!! I’ll refine it and show some drawings later or tomorrow, bye bye!!!
