so earlier i was reading a bit of the book hellraiser is inspired from and the guy in the story talked about how he’s seen “puzzles like these before - especially from Hong Kong”

and i’m pretty sure in the very first episode of xiaolin showdown jack’s like “i got this puzzle box from my parents in Hong Kong!” or whatever, i don’t remember 100% but i do know he got the puzzle box from a relative in Hong Kong

i was like “okay i’m making a stretch here -“ BUT THEN I SEE HOW SIMILAR THE PUZZLE BOXES LOOK?

like um… jack… you better be glad you got a heylin witch that is your second mommy rather than the group of guys that will throw you in gore and mutiliation land. this reference is also wild as fuck if I’m gonna be real 😭
