i just think 9/10 times "what if these characters settled down into a comfortable domestic situation" is one of the least interesting ways to examine a dynamic. but i understand that, and i mean this in the most neutral way possible, being interesting is not the actual point of most people's fanworks and media interpretation. i will still be complaining about it though.

ok so, I approached my local library with a proposal to donate a mural as a way to A: build portfolio/gain practical experience and B: give back to a beloved public institution. The director was very enthusiastic about it and i've been working on it since the beginning of March. Come with me as I endeavor to paint what is in all honesty an excessive amount of birds

I wanted the birds to look like they were actually in the space so first thing after doing the draft was to do a lighting study

after that I covered the walls in letters in lieu of a projector/vr headset bc i have neither of those :) Then i take a picture of the section of wall and superimpose the lineart over top of it so I can pencil in the lines

et voila

and that was a whole week on it's own so next comes the paintin' >:)

I have only finished Morning Star so don’t spoil me pls but I am being so serious when I say Darrow and Cassius has ALWAYS had so much more genuine chemistry than Darrow and Mustang?😭😭😭 I’m not mad about them together but omg it would hit so much better if it was Darrow and Cassius,,,,

Like sure Darrow and Mustang got the physical intimacy mostly but Darrow and Cassius broooo they are YEARNING for each other on every level physical, emotional, virtual, mental, molecular

Like tell me why Darrow is thinking about Cassius in the last chapter while sitting with Mustang?? Why even write this without the implications.

She grimaces and leans into me, closing her eyes. “At least we have this.”

I smile, reminded of Cassius as an eagle skims low over the water before rising up through the mist and disappearing in the trees that jut from the top of a sea stack. “Have I passed your test?”

Saying as someone who genuinely likes Mustang I was very let down by the lack moments between them in Morning Star. The best was probably when they crashed and almost drowned going to see Alia Snowspareow and had to rescue each other.

I also thought after the twist in Red Rising we were going to do way more with Mustang being the twin of The Jackal.
