CUTTING ROOM THROWDOWN - ROUND 2

That's right! I've stopped dragging my feet and have hit the ground running! Round 1 is done and the fun has begun, everyone! Now we've narrowed it all down to 32, and that's gonna be 16 in just one week. Starting tomorrow, we've got 4 days of 4 rounds each, with each poll running for 3 days! The winner moves on, and the loser...doesn't...do that.

to this day we still don't really have a proper quadrupedal tiger pokemon. pretty much every pokemon is either anthropomorphic (like incineroar) or a hybrid with another type of cat. also they're so round.. just look at them. and the worst part is. they were cut TWICE.. they were most famously cut from gold and silver when the spaceworld demo leaked several years back, but a somewhat more recent leak shows that they were planned for red and green too, at some point. since then, this evolutionary line has never come back, and with the shinx line filling the "electric type feline" niche, i fear we will never see them make an official debut…

That's right! We're in the last few rounds, folks! Tomorrow will feature two week-long polls to determine the finals (and third place as well)! Witness as a Pokemon faces a girl with a large ax, while on the other side, a Pokemon...faces a girl...with a large...ax...

...Huh. Interesting coincidence.

Anyways, tomorrow (6/16 at 10:00am EST), brace yourselves for the semi-finals!

Once again, I have plans after this tourney is over, involving a bit of a break and one mini-tournament with pre-selected participants (I cannot emphasize how little this will actually matter and it's more for a side thing I might do or at least planning for something else).

Before Elsa, the story was going to follow the fairy tale more closely, making the antagonist the snow queen and her design was gorgeous

I'm not someone who thinks that adaptations need to be perfectly faithful to their source material, but at least this would have been more visually intereseting instead of Anna, Elsa, and their mom all looking like Rapunzel.

Because Nanako is so cute <3 She's one of the best characters in persona 4 and this model implies that she was meant to be included as a (maybe playable) character in persona 5 as well. This is exciting because Nanako is a young child in the first game, and a preteen in this new model. Getting to see her grow up properly would have been so fun.

That's right! We're in the last half of the tournament now! There are 8 competitors left vying for the spot of the greatest character that never happened! On Wednesday, 5/28 at 10:00am EST, the 4 quarterfinal matches will take place, each lasting one week. From there, we've got two matches left! Those matches are:

After that, I'll be taking a brief break (but an official one this time) before diving into another proper tournament...hopefully with a bit more of a precise theme that doesn't involve a lot of rules-lawyering and a sifting process that drains a lot of my spirit. (Admittedly, there may be one brief tournament that happens in the interum, but it features pre-selected combatants and is also for something that might not even matter to be completely honest).

Probably the only Kaiju in this poll. This big guy was canceled for like five different movies across three eras of Godzilla film history. Went from a shape shifter, to three monsters stacked on top of each other, to the devil itself. Nearly every director of a Godzilla film has thought about the guy but Bagan never made the cut.
