@matteli
where are you going
Whenever they gave us one of those "read through ALL the instructions before you begin!" trick assignments in school where the steps lead you on an increasingly ridiculous goose chase until the final one tells you to just put your name on the paper and turn it in without doing anything else, I was always like, "Okay, but what's the point? Surely the REAL world won't be anything like this." And then I grew up and discovered that not only is the real world often exactly like that, some people won't even read the first line of the instructions even if they make perfect sense. And these people are called "co-workers"

ngl I took many MANY pictures of the solar storm, but this one makes me laugh the hardest
My favorite was tbe person who just posted this in the replies
Does Tumblr still like the shouty baking man or did we stop posting about him? Regardless I'm binging his videos and they're really funny so here's one for you
As much as I love the videos where he finds some long-forgotten and very unusual gem of a recipe... the ones where the end result is just utter dog shit are just fucking hilarious.
We're genuinely so brave for the way we somehow manage to navigate cis society never knowing wtf is going on in their heads at any given time
That's such a hilarious response. For a brief moment the boss lived in a better world that has universal mpreg for everyone...
Got a great ad encouraging people to dismantle surveillance equipment and then sell the guts at a pawn shop
I am all for dismantling surveillance equipment, but this is what the insides of a flock camera look like:
So no, these fucking things don't contain almost $400 worth of gold or over an ounce of silver. And good luck strangling a horse with about 50 cents worth of copper wire.
These things contain exactly what anyone with even the most basic knowledge about electronics would expect them to contain: a giant battery, a camera module, and a few circuit boards. None of which are particularly valuable.
I also can't think of a single device that contains anywhere near the amount of rare metal the original post claimed, other than maybe some super-accurate scientific measuring devices that cost tens of thousands of dollars.
Anyways, as far as individual components go, the solar panel is probably the most valuable part of the whole setup. And unlike the camera, it doesn't contain a GPS tracker.
This is the GPS tracker for anyone wondering:
I am pretty sure its primary function is to add GPS to the metadata of the footage and to keep track where cameras have been installed.
But since these cameras are battery powered, this thing will keep broadcasting its position even after you disconnect the solar panel and take down the camera from its mount.
You'll have to either disconnect the battery on-site or put the camera in a faraday cage and wait for the battery to die. Otherwise, they will be able to track you.
oh no, not "society as we know it", that thing that we all love and agree shouldn't change!
"Society as we know it is at risk" yay wahoo yipee hip hip hooray!

quick question why does your cat command you to print something on the printer
he really likes to watch the printer print. It seems like he thinks there’s some kind of creature in there that I have the mysterious power to summon that he can then hunt for sport?
he sticks his entire arm inside the printer and breaks it if I don’t put some kind of physical burrier between him and the printer but like he purrs so loud when it starts printing and will beg harder for people to print things than he will for treats.
he just loves hunting the printer so much. he even tried to climb inside the place the paper comes out of the printer when he was a kitten.
No matter where he is in the apartment if the printer makes a noise he sprints full speed. He also knows which button to press to get the printer to print like the ink levels info and alignment sheet, so you have to make sure it’s off or locked up or he will print nonstop himself and then attack the printer and jam it.
is it inconvenient that my cat is obsessed with the printer? yes, but damn if it’s not also adorable.
I don’t actually have a ton of photos of him sticking his whole arm in there though because stopping him from jamming the printer is usually a task that involves all of my arms and also all of my roommates arms.
Thinking about the post because I had to unplug the printer today because he broke into the closet and printed the info sheet 3 times in a row and did bite me when I tried to stop him
The face of a boy who is sulking because I expelled him from the printer closet.
the good news is that my cat is so happy, the bad news is that my sticker cutting machine that I got recently instils the same curiosity and lust for violence in my cat that my printer does so no matter what I do I will not know a moments peace.
getting kicked off love island for just swimming in the pool and not talking to anyone
my friend competed in a Survivor knock-off reality tv contest on a tropical island, and he did exactly this. While everyone was scheming and forming cliques and voting strategically to get rid of the others, he just floated in the sea for weeks.
Weeks into the show they had to like, reintroduce him in the editing because he had just been absent from the show till then; "remember this guy? he's also still here". They started with 60 people or something, and he made it to the final 6, where he lost a balancing game.
It was very funny to watch the crappy show just to see my friend, because most episodes he just didnt feature at all. He didn't stress about winning the big prize or anything, he just treated it as a vacation where he got to chill out for two months and get paid for it. A real icon.
i’ve tormented all of my loved ones with this video, and now you can, too
