Rowan was lying on the carpeted floor, staring up at the big, fancy chandelier. He was fairly certain Nate had told him it was from the eighteenth century. Wasnât it? He couldnât quite remember. Usually facts like that were brained into the dark haired young mans brain, but as of late the capacity of said brain had been a bit questionable. Or so he would tell you. For some reason, he had happened upon Grayson manor about.. two hours earlier than when he and Matty had agreed to meet. And so he had done what he often did. Wandered about, pilfered some books from the library, found leftover food, and cleaned, in the kitchen. And now he was here. Most of the wolves seemed to be out, which made the house itself eerily quiet. Peaceful. Parts of Rowan missed living here. Especially now. For all his reasoning in being withdrawn and by himself in times of loss and pain, he was aware how unhealthy it was, how it ensured that he disconnected from a lot of people he loved. Needed even. But he was unsure if he could move back. Hell, if he should move anywhere, shouldnât it be closer, if not in with Dash and Clara? He didnât know. Regardless, any change he had no energy to take charge of at the moment. The sound of footsteps alerted him, to another presence in the house. He was no longer alone. Had it been two hours already? Casting his glance around, but not moving, Rowan decided to just speak. âMatty? You there?â
Considering how the last town event had gone for him, he was surprised to find that he had made it through this one unscathed, albite a little hungover. The fallout, however, had been something entirely different. Dash, he was an old friend. Someone he had known since high school, though that felt like a completely different life. A life that had included his sister, Vanessa. And Issy, she was fun to be around, as crazy as she could be, and Cassie was one of his favorite people. He wanted to reach out to them, to be there for him, but he was habitually bad at being able to talk to people about real feelings, and it hit too close to home. To talk to them about losing a sister. So he was staying quiet until he could find something to say that didnât sound stupid, even to himself, and he was keeping himself busy. Making his way into the Greyson Manor, trying to find Dara, to bug her about training him, he heard someone call for him. Making his way into the living room, he caught sight of Rowan laying on the floor. âYeah, uh, whatâs up, dude? You looking for something on the ceiling? I donât think thatâs gonna help with anything.âÂ
