There's a phenomenon I've noticed in fandom I'm going to call "Canon is mean to my blorbo" wherein fans of ongoing or serial media become really attached to one or a group of characters and build up in their minds an idea of how their story is going to go, but when the story doesn't end up going in that direction, regardless of how well the direction it actually takes was built up along the way, these fans will insist it was done out of malice or disregard towards their faves, rather than simply being a logical continuation or addition to the story that simply wasn't how they would have liked it to go.

To elaborate since this has gained some traction, the issue I'm talking about is not being disappointed or upset by how a narrative has chosen to go, or even talking about it. I am myself a bit of a little hater who likes to post mortum things I felt ultimately didn't work for fun! What I'm talking about here is where that feeling ends up spiraling into outright conspiratorial thinking about how the creators are specifically out to get you your blorbo. It's perfectly fine and normal to be disappointed by a piece of media not going how you wanted, deciding that this was a personal attack against you and everything you love is where I start having problems

Are you a fan of Hazbin Hotel? Did you enjoy Season 2? Are you a huge fan of the Radio Demon and enjoy watching as he brutally murders people in cold blood?

Well, allow us to introduce ourselves! We are Playing Human: A Human Alastor Zine! We have a lineup of artists, merch artists, and writers who are just as ravenous to explore Alastor's human life as you are to consume media of it. Our zine is for charity, meaning any profit made after fulfillment will be donated to the New Orleans Family Justice Center.
