lmao super late thinking this but shouldn't the soul stone sacrifice technically have happened between steve and bucky since the red skull was the soul stone keeper? they had that connection from cap's first movie. that's literally his origin story. so wouldn't that have been a more plot relevant end for steve? steve fighting bucky one last time and then steve all ~i guess this is the end of the line pal~ and yeeting himself in sacrifice to save the world. full circle. idg the lack of continuity
