Strike up the band because we’ve saved a seat for you on this musical journey with Tiana and friends! The name of the new attraction evolving from the reimagining of Splash Mountain was announced today during ESSENCE Fest in New Orleans: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The all-new adventure which will bring guests into the world of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ film “The Princess and the Frog” like never before is coming to Magic Kingdom in Florida and Disneyland park in California in late 2024.

batman being a force of compassion means his enemy is apathy btw, if you even care
#literally the only reason joker makes sense as a main villain#a pessimistic lack of meaning in life#no backstory and no connections#nothing and no one to care about @batmanstwelfthkid
literally the train of thought that made me make this post!!!!

I wish i had big claws to dig a little burrow in the dirt and sleep in it i think it would solve all my problems
stop hating on batfam fanon enjoyers. they’re an important part of the comics ecosystem; without them, us people who actually read comics would have nothing to fuel our meta posts
I’m serious I’m my most articulate and knowledgeable self when I write 500 words on why Constantine would never fuck Batman
Constantine would fuck Batman tho because to say otherwise implies Constantine has standards which is just untrue
5 dracula snoopys. 1 wizard snoopy. all transparent!

Cass being drawn looking a) her age and b) hot af...this is what it feels like to WIN
[ID: Two comic panels of Cass. In the first she steps down a flight of stairs, looking distantly over her shoulder. She's wearing an elegant black shoulderless dress which has fabric coming up over her chest and wrapping around a gold ringlet she's wearing around her neck, with a slit in between her breasts, and also has a slit which comes a little over her knee on her right leg. In the second photoshe turns, looking intensely out of the panel, she's wearing blush and deep purple lipstick. Her hair is a bob cut and she looks to be in her twenties. End ID]
Some highlights of ‘60s & early 70s cons from The Golden Age of Comic Fandom (1999) book. Many of these – the JSA ones in particular – were the first cosplays of their kind in recorded history as early fandom was just beginning to take shape and conventions were still considered primarily aimed at science fiction fans. We’ve got:
Dick and Pat Lupoff as Captain Marvel and Mary Marvel at the 1960 World Science Fiction Convention in Pittsburgh, memorably acknowledged as likely the first comic book cosplay in the Xero (1960) #1 fanzine.
Maggie and Don Thompson as Taia and Ibis the Invincible, as well as Larry Ivie and Les Gerber as Batman and Robin, at the 1962 WorldCon in Chicago.
Dian Girard, Bruce Pelz, Fred Patten and Ted Johnstone as Wonder Woman, Doctor Fate, The Flash and Green Lantern also at the 1962 WorldCon in Chicago.
Carol and Phil Seuling as Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel with Otto Binder (co-creator of Supergirl and prolific scripter of Marvel Family stories!) at the 1965 New York Comic Con.
John Clark as The Shadow at the 1970 Phoenix Con, winner of the masquerade ball contest at that same convention.
Bruce Hamilton and Leslie Hamilton as the Joker and Catwoman also at the 1970 Phoenix Con.
Michael T. Gilbert as Green Lantern at the 1971 Comic Art Convention in New York.
For more information on early comic book fandom, you can find a transcript of ‘The Golden Age of Comic Fandom’ panel at the 2000 San Diego Comic Con right here.
