that last episode of interview with the vampire/the vampire lestat... my fucking god?! i feel like i cannot physically move. is this how it feels to get everything you've ever wanted but also more and then not know where to start unpacking everything? it's the lestat/louis of my dreams, every single glance, every single exchange. the street scene??? the bar scene??? the blood in the beer??? and then you get to claudia and then you get to the bench. sorry, SORRY. how is anyone supposed to parse all that. in a single episode?!?!?! that's insanity, man. what are any one of us supposed to do now.

I need you all to think for a moment. “I would have tripped Armand up the stairs if I wanted you with me” means she saw what happened. In death, she was following Louis. The Claudia we saw is the moment of her death prolonged into a century of darkness and loneliness. Look into her words. She meant all that shit but don’t forget Claudia’s relationship to Loustat was never black and white.

I understand that the claudia scene serves as the ending of the chapter but I sincerely hope that at some point in the future we will have a scene (or a mention of it) of louis and/or lestat burning her diaries and her dress because I truly believe that it would ease the suffering of claudia’s spirit even if just a little and it would be right to honour her last wish

How am i supposed to go on about my day knowing claudia and madeleine are apart? That madeleine accepted death hoping to be reunited with claudia in the afterlife only for claudia to be stuck nowhere bc of her unfinished business, unable to move on. That she has looked everywhere for her and she is surely looking for her lover too, wherever she is. That destiny is so cruel and after having such hard lives and a short time with each other, STILL not even in death can they rest peacefully together.

really struck by how claudia grieving madeleine seems to be the thing that gets most to lestat during the seance. he only starts to cry when claudia tells them that she can’t find her companion, that’s she’s been alone this entire time. and of course this is what would get to him. the thing he fears the most is loneliness. so knowing that his daughter found a companion only to lose her again in death. it’s devastating

I genuinely really hope this episode highlights just how bad these characters are 😭😭 like "hi yes let me resurrect my dead daughter and act shocked as to why she doesnt want to see me. and then make it about me two seconds later after the whole ordeal" Claudia is right, it was literally never about her. like these guys SUCK. and that's ok!! you can like characters who are bad people, doesnt make you a bad person, but starting fan wars because people like certain characters is genuinely insane for this series. you cannot play morality Olympics with these characters because theyre all tied for dead last.

the unholy family dynamic and storyline will forever remain the best written tragedy ever. louis, claudia and lestat are doomed as a family even before claudia is turned and we know that, watching the story unfold you understand at some point that the outcome will be the same no matter what. you can sympathise with all of the characters at different times because we get to see their motivation and thought process behind every action, thus it’s impossible not to see that there was love between the three characters. of course love isn’t always pretty and it’s not always enough. love doesn’t change the situation, justify every action or magically become solution for everything. but it does make the story even heavier and meaningful and personally I will forever see louis, claudia and lestat relationship as the best and most profound depiction of a complicated family dynamic
