REblog if you are Asexual, support Asexuals, or spend most of your time actually thinking about Superheroes.
you are alive on a planet with insects and whales and diatoms and mycelium networks and puppies and your human friends. literally so awesome to be a living thing
The fastest way to accomplish The Project is to cease being afraid of The Project. The Project cannot maim you. The Project cannot kill you. The Project is more afraid of you than you are of it. It is okay if The Project turns out differently from how it was in your head, and it is okay if it has flaws. You are capable of engaging with The Project.

Part of reading Batman comics is figuring out when Bruce is being racist because the writers are racist, when Bruce is being racist because he's just racist, and when it's some combination of the two.
Trans Tim Drake Week Day 2
Tim told Bruce that she doesn't feel like a girl, that she's not comfortable being a girl. Bruce, despite not understanding well, accepted Tim's struggle and referred to her as his son, Timothy Drake-Wayne, and cut her hair. Alfred changed Robin's costume from an older design that was more feminine, Tim wanted to keep the hairband as it was a comfort item.
When Batman took Robin to meet the Justice League, they confused Robin for a girl and Bruce corrected them.
why is it with the dc fandom the worst most boring ships ever have like 150000 fics but the best ships that have like insane textual backing have 3 fics and a shoelace
but you were my robin
it's just so crazy how friendships between women r devalued so much that anytime two women in media r close friends u end up w a camp of people who go "i prefer them as platonic friends (so i can more easily ignore the significance of their bond)" & another camp that goes "they aren't friends they're girlfriends (bc i cannot fathom their friendship having any meaning or significance)" it's impossible for these people to truly care about women's inner lives & complexities. meanwhile they r writing veritable essays abt the life-changing ride-or-die bond between two fictional men who r somehow coworkers & best friends & soulmates & confidantes & madly in love w each other & divorced &â

I'm never gonna make it 'til the end, I guess by APOLOGETICINSECT on ao3, @isuredolikeechidnas
âDamn.â Steph says. Then: âI know you said you didnât want this, but⊠my seventeenth is next year. If you want, you could come? I mean, itâs not gonna be a big deal, but youâre my friend.â âWhen is it?â Cass says. âIâm getting out the invitations early.â Steph says. She laughs. âNext February. You just missed it.â Cass will be dead by then, by Lady Shivaâs hand. She nods. âI think Iâd like that.â (OR: Five conversations Cass has about family in the run-up to her death, and one her family has about her, afterwards.)

BUT WHO CAN GROW ME A NEW BROTHER? by solistrix on ao3, @pluviatrix
There's no way he could pass for Dickâs actual brother and heâs got the face of a shell-shocked cartoon mouse â but not the cutesy mice, the ones in the old 80's movies that gave Dick nightmares as a child. That plus the fact the Drake kidâs got a thick New Jersey accent he canât shake and that Dick doesnât look grown-up enough to be toting around a preteen is sure to get people asking questions. Or worse. So Dick hauls Tim in by the strap on his backpack, steps onto the shoulder, sticks his thumb skyward toward the cloudless cornflower blue of middle America in summer, and prays whoever pulls over lies somewhere boring on the sliding scale between serial killer and snitch. Dick Grayson turns 20 on March 20th, Jason Todd dies on April 27th, and by May 23rd, Bruce Wayne's ward-not-son is rattling around in the bed of a 1979 Ford F-150 heading anywhere but Gotham, New Jersey. Wayne money and Bat technology can't find him, but he's got a bug-eyed shadow and a raw Robin-shaped wound to haul across the continental United States. or: road trip, coming-of-age, #Grief Fic triple-threat with a healthy dollop of early accidental Tim acquisition. or about as accidental as Tim acquisition can get
Worlds Apart, Together (Seven Years at the Metropolis Gala) by InForestPlace on ao3
It started with Koriand'r wearing rose gold and emeralds to the Metropolis gala. (The outfit was street legal. She had a lawyer check.) The next year, Dick wore Tamaranean formalwear beside her: matched opals and not much else. Then Kara showed up in Argo City upper-caste formal: black opal nanotech covering everything from chin to toe, the House of El crest on her shoulder, not her chest. Showing less skin than anyone in the building and commanding more attention than everyone in it. Then Diana wore Themysciran battle armor. Then Scott and Barda arrived in the matched formal of two worlds that should have destroyed them. Then Bruce came in a hundred-thousand-dollar tuxedo made of nanoceramic Kevlar that looked like silk. Then Clark finally stopped wearing a baby suit. Seven years. Seven galas. Seven answers to the same question: How do you walk into a room and make it yours?
fic title: where are all the women?
my problem is i think every character concept can be improved by making them a little nonbinary. this has created a comically unrealistic concentration of People With A Weird Gender Thing Going On in my stories and i will not be stopping any time soon. im genders georg.
I think it commented this somewhere else (dont remember where) but Duke Thomas and his braids. Duke Thomas and his braids, done in intricate designs with beads and charms and dye and the whole shebang, and bruce being concerned that it will reveal his identity as Signal, until Duke posts a selfie in full signal gear, and suddenly similar and identical braids pop up around gotham because the black community has solidarity and someone for the kids to look up to, so why wouldnt they support him and help make hiding his identity easier. So now Duke gets to rep his hair the way he wants to, and signal's social media page becomes littered with selfies of his hair, and pictures with civilians who have matching/similar/cool hair.
Ugh wait Signal Braids (tm) would be like cornrows with maybe cool zigzag parts and yellow hair jewelry, and it would be a whole trend and people would be like âthose are literally just cornrowsâ and thereâd be back and forth debates but theyâd still be the braids of the summer and hairstylists would be charging like $50 (expensive in Gotham lmao) for custom Signal hair charmsâŠ
