Illustration for the theme “Bear your freedom”
Freedom of being yourself sounds like something that shouldn't be discussed in modern world, after all, it's a right that each person has. But the situation is that, if your authentic self doesn't fit the norm, one doesn't have the right to be authentic. One can contain it, in a polished box, away from others, because "what if you pollute our garden?" or "that's unnatural, change yourself". Consequently, marginalized people spend lifetimes either hiding in neat constraints or scaling impossible heights, bleeding for a platform just to whisper: ‘I am here. Let me exist.’

Zodiac Sign Collection- Part 2
First bunch of zodiac signs collection ✨
Led through the mist,
By the milk-light of moon,
All that was lost, is revealed.
Our long bygone burdens, mere echoes of the spring,
But where have we come, and where shall we end?
If dreams can't come true, then why not pretend?
Really pleased to reveal interior illustrations for Little White Lies Frankenstein issue!!
Little White Lies has interviewed Guillermo, the film’s writer and director, as well as Jacob Elordi and Oscar Issac, the film’s lead actors, for this issue. Complementing the pertinent interviews, I was asked to design a triptych of interconnected portraits.
Del Toro has referred to the movie as his “dream project,” and this project ties with that statement. On the first, Guillermo laid in bed with the book in its original form, giving the impression that he had just read it and was dreaming about it. By his side, a motionless figure— still mere idea, but soon to be a Toro’s “creature”.
Oscar presented as Victor Frankenstein, but from a reverse angle of the bed, as if he is a vision or literally manifesting Guillermo Del Toro’s dreams reminiscent to how the Creature appears at the end of Frankenstein’s bed.
Jacob presented as the Creature, but lurking in the shadows, in the corner of the room, behind where Oscar would be. He seats near failed experiments, scared that he’s one of them.
The issue is available to buy now through Little White Lies website!!
Speculative illustration for an article by GH&L that I really like!! This article discusses a little-known meeting in 1889 between Oscar Wilde and Arthur Conan Doyle, facilitated by a magazine editor, which led to commissions for The Picture of Dorian Gray and The Sign of Four. While seemingly an unlikely pairing, the article argues that their works share surprising similarities, particularly exploring the fin-de-siècle aesthetic and hinting at a queer subtext in Doyle’s early work, “John Barrington Cowles,” which predates his Sherlock Holmes stories. The article points to shared themes like addiction and artistic interests in both authors’ writing, suggesting a deeper connection than previously recognized.
Hinted symbolism here are: statues of Hadrian and Antinous, lighted shapes of skull and diamond in lamps, green carnations, yellow book 🕵🏽♂️
5/5 interior illustration for “Assassin’s Quest”!! Based on Chapter 30 Stone Garden
Couldn’t resist the temptation to illustrate one of the dragons from the Stone Garden, absolutely loved that Hobb made them so unique and vibrant in characteristics ✨ Special thanks for my cat for posing me for this creature
Aaand more importantly big thanks for everyone who liked and reposted and commented on other illustrations from this series, I read everything and it made me immensely happy to see that so many people enjoyed my work thank you thank you thank you 🥲
4/5 interior illustration for Assassin’s Quest!!
Spend hours deciding on how to draw Beloved’s face just to lighten everything up in end 🫠 But honestly I like this version better, it has more emotional weight in it, I think, and better visualises of how Skill and this whole merging of souls might feel like idk (if you ever merged souls with someone let me know if I did a good job of illustrating it lol). The whole composition was inspired by Beloved’s realisation of Fitz’s true feelings towards him and just in general the feeling of truly knowing someone from deep inside, like a fog finally clearing and you can see a full picture. For someone who self-gaslights a lot (not pointing finger at you, Fitz) knowing something or someone’s feelings for certain would mean a great deal, hence, this illustration is much warmer than others.
Also, chronologically this illustration is supposed to be the last one but the last one that I’m gonna to share is double page spread so it made more sense (for me) to leave it for the end 🤷🏽
Also number 2, tried explaining what is happening in this image to someone outside the fandom and dramatically failed. Thankfully, I would never have to explain how Bee was born
3/5 interior illustration for Assassin’s Quest!!
Unlike the other two there not much symbolism going on, just wanted to focus on tranquility and recovery after harsh time. Based on chapter 20 ✨
2/5 interior illustration for “The Assassin’s Quest”!!
This one is based on the scene from Chapter 9 where Fitz is confronted by Will. Some of the symbolism include swords on the wall (highlight the feeling of being trapped in a dangerous situation + there six swordsmen in the room as we later find out), the eye above Fitz (the representation of Will’s Skill and being watched) and candles (one of them is slowly “dying out”, just like Fitz thinks that he ran out of time and would be killed in that room)
Making a series of illustrations for The Assassin’s Quest to expand my portfolio, here is the first one (out of five)!! I was planning to illustrate The Fool’s Fate since that it’s my favorite of all but my CPTSD got worse recently and I got more emotionally invested in TAQ, specifically trauma related scenes. I really liked(?) how Hobb described the state the Fitz was in after all the torture and tormenting, his desire for escapism, dissociations, night terrors and flashbacks, which leaves him so empty, so confused and lost. In this illustration I tried to show exactly that. The objects around illustrate how other people perceive him (objects on the left are some that could belong to stable boy, while those on the right would belong to an assassin), and the mirror is a reflection of his inner perception of himself (I’ll leave it up to you how to interpret it). The mirror is slightly covered, showing just a glimpse of his reflection, which shows that Fitz is protective over his identity and emotions, afraid to show his true self to other , and ,at this point of the book, he’s even afraid to show it to himself.
So yeah, a lot of overthinking going on in my brain 😂 Let me know what you think, I’ll be back with new overly descriptive illustration soon lmao
