Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?
It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
It’s July 20th. That’s the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. I’m ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and I’m going to have a goddamn potluck. You’re all invited.

HEY, FELLOW HATERS OF INSANELY-BRIGHT CAR HEADLIGHTS, SOMEONE HAS STARTED A PETITION TO REGULATE THEM.
It's an official petition through the Australian Government's e-petition page, which means if it gets enough signatures, it will be tabled in government.
You do have to be an Australian citizen to sign it, BUT!!! PLEASE REBLOG THIS EVEN IF YOURE NOT, because these kind of things have a roll-on effect, and if Australia legislates LED headlights, then other countries may follow.
FYI, the petition asks only for your name and email, and once you've clicked the sign button, they'll send you an email to confirm your signature --- you need to click the confirmation link in the email to have your signature counted.
There is a similar petition in the UK as well! It only has 230 signatures or so so if you are in the UK sign it! Clicky clicky go go go! Let's get these damnable things off the road!
Transport Canada has a survey running right now asking for feedback on your experience with vehicle headlights and glare at night! Runs until April 20, 2026 so fellow Canadians - get over there and get your voice heard! And it's not just for drivers either - if you walk or bike or otherwise are on the roads after dark, you are the target audience too.

Water soothes and heals.
Those of water are peaceful, trusting, and healing.
Water is fluid, flowing, formless objects.
It is defensive, adaptable, flexible, and supple.
Air is peaceful, calm, and creative.
It is joy, imagination, and humor.
Air refreshes and revives.
Those of air are communicative, joyful, and imaginative.
Air is growth, expansion, and freedom.
It is willful, passionate, wise, benevolent, evasive, and elusive.
Power, stability, change, freedom
Fire is a Fight
Fire wants to fight.
It wants to fight, and it wants to burn.
If you want it to be more,
you have to give it part of you.
You have to flow with it.
It's like… if fire wrangling is being the captain of the ship,
healing is turning it so you don't get swamped by the rogue wave.
You get what you need,
but you're not -
all the way in control.
Fire is a rhythm, a heartbeat.
It knows how to dance,
it just doesn't know what dance you need it to do.
You have to show it the steps.
It's you, and the fire -
and you're not trying to match it,
not like breathing.
You're trying to find a rhythm you can both fit.
And then it's you and the fire and the person you're healing,
and that gets complicated,
and sometimes you trip a little.
But you care,
you have to care -
and if you just keep going,
it'll work.
Fire and Water
What is fire but water's other form?
Both are destroyers, yet creators.
Fire burns and ravishes destroying all in its path.
But fire is also a creator.
By clearing out the old and dead,
Fire makes room for new growth in its stead.
Fire is passion and drive,
Fire is love, all giving, -but all conquering.
Fire is light.
It is hope, the chance for a new day.
Fire is the beginning of all, and the end of all as well.
Water is both life-giver and life-taker.
Water rushes and rages.
But water is many things.
Water is kind and balanced.
It is the life-giver, the healer.
Water is peace and serenity.
Water is the thirst quencher,
That which we cannot survive without.
Together,
Water and fire are life.
Desire
Desire is like the moon in a river.
What we desire,
we distort the nature of.
That is why happiness cannot come
from the attainment of desire
but letting go of it.
In my brief time as his student,
I was given words to meditate upon.

I was taught to
transform my passion into compassion,
