"You only like this character because she's a woman!" okay and you hate her because she's a woman, knowing that she has all the traits you would enjoy in a male character.
TIFs post stuff like this all the time but if anyone dares to suggest that their dysphoria isn't innate and is actually a byproduct of a deeply misogynistic society you will get branded a TERF and stoned.
“There is ZERO reason for [female-only] spaces to exist.” Okay.
What they meant to say was “there is ZERO reason for female-only spaces to exist that I respect.” There are thousands of reasons for female-only spaces, they just do not respect or value those reasons.
if males aren't any more unsafe than females, then go be with the males. go in the male bathroom and locker room, and the male college dorm. you'll be safe, because amab bodies are not unsafe and you don't have trauma from amab bodies. tell the males in those spaces that they won't be better for excluding minorities.
People are so indoctrinated by patriarchy that mentioning something neutral like "men on average are physically stronger than women" will get you accused of saying women are inferior to men. Like, nobody said that, you are the one who believes physical strength equals worthiness and value as a human being and is projecting it on completely neutral assumptions.
The use of physical strength as a measurement of worth and value is one of the most male supremacist things in the book, that assignment of meaning was obviously made by men to portray themselves as superior to women (and therefore justify a system of male rulership, control and dominance over women) because they conveniently had more physical strength than women on average. For example, they didn't choose immune resilience to that purpose for a reason, you know.
This should be obvious for people who claim to be feminist and anti-patriarchal.
even with watching a movie from like the 90s it’s insane how much everyone looks like a Normal Person compared to anything filmed today
it’s something about the aggressively obvious 2020s makeup too on everyone in every movie no matter what the time period is. it’s the 19th century they do not have highlight!!!!
look at meg march in 1994 vs 2019. they both look great! however! emma watson is wearing very obvious lipstick, mascara, concealer under eyes heavy foundation etc etc. you can see this at a glance. i literally in making this comparison had to google if this was a promotional image that she took or actually a still from the movie because her makeup just looks like normal 2019 makeup that a girl from 2019 would wear!!! (not to mention her costume. different post.) then look at trini alvarado on the other left. obviously she’s wearing tons of makeup because she’s in a movie and she has tons of lights on her all the time but it doesn’t look she is!! you can see circles under her eyes!! she doesn’t have The Shine to her face that emma watson does. she looks so much more believable as a girl from the 1860s not because she’s a perfect representation but simply because she does not Obviously Have On Modern Makeup
the reason why every few years there are thought pieces on the panic of dropping male graduates and dropping male grades and dropping male attendance in colleges is bc universities know it drops the value of their product
yep, because in our male-centric world, any time women get into something, it becomes socially devalued, because apparently if women are doing it it must not be very hard/important. ref. biology, ref. nursing, ref. school teachers, ref. social sciences, ref. programming
it's "women's work". but it's the foundation of society, everything would stop dead in its tracks without us
yep, if you can’t be a high paying engineer w/o an engineering degree, but suddenly the engineering field is majority of women, the engineering industry becomes devalued (been shown before that pay drops across an industry if it switches from male dominated to female dominated), then suddenly an engineering degree isn’t so illustrious. Or whatever degree…medical, law, etc.
“As long as you remain *one of us* we will lovebomb you and tell you how valid and special you are and how you’re so brave and wonderful for identifying as trans, but the second you decide you no longer identify that way we will coldly shun you and demand you stay quiet” babe that’s a cult
Cults also operate by cutting people off from their families and support groups. That’s why alienating people from their families is such a big focus in the trans movement.
See, the concept of “found family” is not a new idea, nor is it inherently a bad thing. In the gay rights movement, there were of course a lot of people who were kicked out and disowned by their parents for being gay, and so there was an understanding that some people can’t rely on their families for support. Sometimes family can be toxic, and sometimes you really do have no choice but to cut them off.
HOWEVER, the focus in gay rights was always more about trying to make families more accepting of their gay relatives. Cutting off the family entirely was seen as a LAST RESORT when there were no other options.
With gender ideology, however, I’ve noticed there is WAY more of a fixation with straight up separating people from their families right away, telling people that any family member who doesn’t wholeheartedly buy into their new “identity” or is concerned about the transition is a bad person who can no longer be in that person’s life. They’re basically saying “hey kids, if your mom isn’t super on board with stopping your puberty and injecting you with hormones and giving you dangerous surgeries on your genitals, that means she hates you and wants you dead!”
It’s utterly ridiculous but that’s how cults work. They have to separate members from anyone who might step in and make them realize that the cult is bad for them. Members can’t have a family, because *THEY* are the new family now.
I have a personal account of this -
During my first appointment at the Planned Parenthood where I was prescribed hrt (after my FIRST appointment mind you) the "doctor" looked at my chart, saw that I had recently turned 18, and said -
"I bet you were dying to get away from your awful parents!"
I really wish I had listened to the gut instinct I felt after she said that, because it really rubbed me the wrong way. At the time, yes I was excited to start hrt, which my parents definitely did not want, but they were by no means awful. As "bigoted" as they were about me being trans, I knew that they loved me and were only concerned that I would end up regretting it. They ended up being right.

TRAs are boohooing over the like button using the pride flag with the brown stripes because it "feels targeted against trans people"
It's the rainbow flag, get the fuck over it

“Black people are great, don’t get me wrong”
tumblr users will be like it's wrong to judge people based on their words and actions
I’m sorry but we do not need to entertain these people. There’s no good argument for why we should be producing and distributing fictionalized depictions of child sex abuse or any other kind of abuse.
It would be weird and fucked up if you were purchasing comic books of children being physically beaten too. Why do we need to have these kinds of materials available? Who does it serve? Does it serve children, to have some of the most heinous crimes to be committed against them casually consumed as leisure? Does it serve education about child sex abuse for these materials to be available as a tolerated form of entertainment? We should be asking: what exactly is the purpose of these materials such as lolicon and shotacon?
Because if the fictionalized depictions of the abuse of the marginalized and vulnerable serves as a mass produced commodity sold to the public freely and it doesn’t serve the interests of the subjects of those depictions, then it must serve the interests of capital and patriarchy who normalize all sorts of oppressive violence as entertainment.
Who gives a shit what the apologists for the oil pedocracy think?
Say it as loud as you can
Women in radfem / gc spaces are not immune to the trappings of "if it pisses off my enemy then that must mean it's good" and I'd like to see this called out more.
When you spew ableism / racism / fatphobia because it pisses off an imagined blue haired libfem TRA, are you any better than the libfems who defend porn and kink because they believe anything that pisses off conservative christians must be wholesome and feminist?
I see it the most on vexxed (which granted, much like its predecessor, Ovarit, is a cesspool of reactionary trad women who believe hating the gender non-conformity of trans people makes them a radfem) where women will say something rancidly racist / ableist / fatphobic, followed by something like "teehee imagine how upset the wokesters would be at hearing that! :D " like it's all just a game of "piss off blue haired 'wokesters'" and not like, giving a shit about women. All women. Including fat women, women of color, and disabled women (who are disproportionately affected by fatphobia, ableism, and racism compared to their male counterparts btw).
does it start to feel really allegory of the cave -ish to anyone else sometimes
