its actually crazy how good music is. and its all different, too. like wow. huge deal really when you think about it
There's this line in Love Lies Bleeding where she says "I'm nothing like you" and her father says "wouldn't that be nice?" And honestly it'd be less painful to just kill me
I think Brokeback Mountain made the general public mad in a way a lot of other gay movies before it hadn’t because it made people uncomfortable to think of gay men in careers associated with traditional masculinity. It’s okay if the gay guy on screen is a lisping effeminate theatre performer or troubled artist, that’s comfortable, they’re used to that stereotype, it’s okay if they exist in a world separated from them. The idea that there are gay men out there working rugged blue collar jobs in fields like construction, mining and animal agriculture makes them angry. We need to keep telling these stories.
I don't know who needs to hear this but:
-"it only hurts a little" is still pain
-"I can ignore it" is still pain
-"I can cope with/manage it" is still pain
-"it's bearable" is still pain
-"I can push through it" is still pain
-"it doesn't hurt that much" is still pain
-"it doesn't stop me from doing x" is still pain
You don't need to be in agonizing pain to be in pain.
on july 12th 2004 the statue of liberty reached down & picked up 1 guy & ate him. not very many people saw this happen & no one got any pictures of it. the eyewitness accounts never traveled very far or got any attention on the internet or anything
This is so hard to get past but I promise you it is worth it. I went back to school at 26 and graduated at 29. I now have a great job that I love. Love doesn't end just because you age.
carrying all the groceries up so my wife doesnt have to
i bought that for my wife
In case you were wondering why Spotify Wrapped sucks balls this year, and more importantly doesn't have any genre data:
Can you hear the sound of bells? That's because they're clowns. 🤡 🛎
Usually this is a problem with employees retiring. Not because some fool laid off the only person who knew how things worked.
And why was Glenn McDonald the only one who knew how assigning genres work. Why didn't the person firing them know this?
Don't people running Spotify know the skills of the people who make the company run? Like an excel sheet or database with key employees and skills? A Do Not Fire These People -list?
*sigh* rant over.
No - they have no focken clue. 5 years experience is vaguely corporate office jobs has taught me that management hasn't got a fuggen clue as to what enybody does. If you're well liked and appear busy, you can literally be a salaried desk jockey and do nothing. If you seem frazzled, frantic, you know, hard working? Management can't relate to you, and even if you're load bearing, you're in a hot seat.
Corporations need to die
I almost scrolled past this on Twitter
I regret to inform several people in the notes that grink doesn't mean grinch twink
Here’s a video so you can hear the water and the thrushes. I took it for you because you couldn’t be there. <3
In case anyone could use this right now.
I've said it before but thank you so much for this, OP. Since I became physically disabled I can't hike to anywhere a wheelchair cannot roll and I miss this. Thank you for letting me see it again.
*grabs your hands and speaks to you in a tone that is so gentle* they/them pronouns stop being universal once you learn a person's pronouns. Sometimes that person's pronouns will include they/them and in that specific case you are allowed to keep using those pronouns for that person. In any case where you learn a persons pronouns and that person doesn't use they/them, you should no longer use those pronouns for that person. If you continue to use they/them pronouns knowing that person doesn't use them, you are now misgendering that person. Kindly stop doing that please. Thank you, I love you.
You've been working hard all day queen and you deserve time on your phone
Me one minute into my workday
One minute of hard work queen. Go on your phone 🤳🏿
debating if it would be funnier to have a bumper sticker saying "my other ride is a [exact make and model of the car the sticker is on]" or "my other ride is a [equally shitty but different car]"
2008 Honda Civic with the bumper sticker "My other ride is a 2007 Honda Civic"
This post has found its target market
