Can we also apply this to both sides too? Because I’ve seen a lot of adult Lace believers sort of belittle other side for not understanding “the subtext” or “infantilizing” or “not understanding Lace is disabled” . I’ve also seen some post “yuri” notes under platonic posts even if the poster themselves asked not to be tagged like that. I’ve seen sentiment that interpreting Lace as a child is some kind of moral failing or a big weird misinterpretation, while not even bothering to look into good arguments for why some believe that. In all I love both interpretations and I’m tired that people trash one interpretation over another. And to make it clear no matter the interpretation harassment does not earn anyone a badge of honor. instead of harassing others go use that energy to draw or write a fanfic.

Yesss OFC it applies to both!!! I wish more people would understand that fiction will always be interpreted differently by different people due to personal background and other external factors, and that it's not some sort of irredeemable sin to get different messages out of different aspects of the story 👀

Lace (Hollow Knight Silksong) made out of lace eating Lay's chips

she is the only character i can say i deeply relate to. She was the first time i've seen my personal situation somewhat depicted in media, and it being done in such a heartfelt manner actually affected my life quite a lot... i am so thankful to Team Cherry for making her. "A fragile form of life, but life nonetheless" is something i think about very very often
