what you learn from hobbies:
consistent practice opens up whole worlds of skill that you couldn't imagine
making mistakes in the process of learning is not only natural, it is also essential
activities that you enjoy can give you more energy back than you spent on them
wow everything is so expensive
my hands hurt
The funniest subplot of the blizzard was New Yorkers fujoshimaxxing at the mayor’s direction
i forgot to do 1 billion things
my god the thing really is to love life even when you have no stomach for it
you're so vain you probably think this vaguepost is about you
btw having curly hair but not being taught how to care about it as a child means that even if you are white, the majority of hair advice being given by other white people is useless and actively harmful to you, so you literally owe everything you know to black and brown women online
who else notices the young straight women without boyfriends or sons who need something to project their gender essentialism on to so they're out here being weird about their male cats
"only girls with boy cats will understand 🩷" and its just a video of a cat being affectionate to its owner...girl that is just a cat and he loves you because he is your cat and not because he is a boy. you also removed his balls so any hormone that would make him any biologically different from a female cat is missing from his body. that is a eunich and he loves you because you pet him and give him yummy meal. not because he has a penis
I put this in the tags but I feel this is very important: cats are individuals and can be mean or affectionate regardless of sex. However, the stereotype of male cats (especially neutered ones) being more affectionate LITERALLY LEADS TO FEMALE CATS STAYING IN SHELTERS LONGER.
Your gender essentialism is so bad it is affecting animals getting homes. Please unlearn this so that we can have a better world for all creatures.

All mutuals who understand my grand vision shall be entombed with me within my mausoleum if I ever happen to die
I just saw a post that deeply annoyed me because it went, "Here's a story that's like a Regency romance, but I FIXED it by making the characters sexually liberated and shame-free and polyamorous!"
This is like saying, "Here's a story that's like a thriller, but I FIXED it by having the serial killer go to therapy instead of trapping victims in his evil maze and dismembering them."
.
The thing a lot of people don't seem to get is that the entire appeal of a Regency romance is watching a deeply repressed, perfectly controlled, buttoned up, straight-laced person who has never expressed an emotion before fall so hard for someone that something in them just breaks and they come completely unhinged.
It's a very specific kink that this genre is tapping into.
People who think the characters in a Regency novel are boring are missing the whole point. The characters are supposed to be boring, right up until they fall so madly in love that it drives them insane, at which point they become very interesting. Regency romance novelists are doing the writing equivalent of putting plain white featureless uncooked whole eggs in a microwave and waiting for them to explode.
i love how you used to be able to just say whatever you wanted
you can feel the moment in a tv show when a woman who was an independent character suddenly becomes a love interest. its like shackle locking onto her ankle.
God what i wouldn't give to have the sheer stamina and work ethic of my next door neighbor. Every morning, 8am, the hammers and drills come out. he's putting up shelves. he's feeding cables through walls 6 inches from my pillow. He's putting together furniture. He's making smoothies. He's 74 years old. Does it piss me off? of course. But i have to admit that he is clearly also the superior being. I need The Substance but to turn me (anemic 20-something with the constitution of a consumptive Victorian child) into this absolute beast of a man
Met this same neighbor today as he was effortlessly hauling his bike up 4 flights of stairs having just finished a 20 mile bike ride and i (masked and bedraggled) explained that I'm on the tail end of a cold but venturing out as I've run out of food, and he was like "Aww no!! 🥺🥺 If you ever need me to pop down to the shops and do some shopping for you just let me know!!" like Steven, that is SO kind, truly, but I have to draw the line at you doing Meals on Wheels for me right now. what i actually need is for you to come with me on a Back To The Future style adventure and somehow make you my biological grandpa because my current genes are simply not pulling their weight. can you leave me your zest for life in your will, Steven. Steven please
