reading a good interesting book after a horrible reading slump and suddenly you can feel the sun shining again and the sky is more beautiful than ever and birds are all singing songs to you
"it's ok to show (x) in fiction as long as the bad guy gets punished!" the bad guy doesn't have to get punished. in fact the bad guy can win altogether. the bad guy can entirely get away with it. hope this helps
and this part might make some people's head explode but: characters can be written to forgive things you personally wouldn't ever forgive. not everything is written as what you'd perceive to be the right choice. not everything is a self-insert & protagonists don't have to be relatable.
At some point, the Centaurs have an absolutely insane game, like Ilya and Shane score a fucking hat trick each or something and the whole team is like โguys, we have to go out and celebrateโ and Ilya just says
โOh, we will definitely celebrate but you are not invitedโฆ unless Shane has suddenly gotten very cool about a lot of stuff.โ
โIlya. No.โ
โNo, you are not invited. Sorry.โ
it will forever be a little insane to me how ilya rozanov, born and raised in russian, total jock/party bro, father-is-police-brother-is-police guy, somehow has never had an ounce of internalized homophobia in his body. canonically just saw being bi as an extra opportunity for hot sex. started experimenting with guys at 16 and simply never questioned it. and like yeah heโs a top but itโs also so clear that he does not see being a bottom as a demeaning or less masculine thing in the slightest. this man goes on to wear leopard shirts and booty shorts and flicks his hands gayfully and makes gay jokes at his jock colleagues and being tender with other men is like second nature to him and Heโs actually the one to makes the โoh are you scared of being gay?โ โcuz I thought you might be gay when you were sucking my dickโ jokes.
this man this mannnn i want to pick his brain apart with a tweezer
I do suffer the american condition of liking to drink huge drinks
Lemme get a little sippy

i have a headcanon that shane is a gamer. he plays legend of zelda on the switch on plane rides and obviously he plays EA NHL but also doom and counterstrike and call of duty. he has a group of online friends he games with during the off season and they have absolutely no idea who shane actually is. theyโre just like yeah thatโs gingerale24 he joins us for two weeks in the summers, kicks ass and makes sure we win, and then he fucks off again. we donโt know what he does. we think he might be a teacher. or maybe a model? he talked about photo shoots once. no clue though. yeah he takes losing personally. itโs weird.
ilya posts a video on instagram with the caption โmy husband and the dog he didnโt wantโ and itโs shane cradling anya like a baby outside the vetโs office whispering โyou were so brave, honey. weโll get you a pup cup on the drive home and you can sit in my lap while papa drives. you did such a good job when the scary lady poked you. such a good girlโ and people everywhere lose their fucking minds
myhollanov have a real Zendaya and Tom Holland kind of public relationship post-TLG. outside of major publicity obligations, theyโre practically unseen. they become masters of disguise. in public, Shane is extremely thoughtful and itโs kind of rare when he talks about his person to the press. Ilya on the other hand spills some domestic tidbit the moment a microphone is put in his face (like calling Shane by his middle name on the carpet at an awards show to get his attention).

thank you im really good at clicking reblog
Reblog if you are really good at clicking reblog
just so weโre clear if youโve never actually seen a cybertruck in person and have only seen photos of them i cannot stress enough how much worse they look in real life. like i honestly donโt know how itโs possible. most things look basically the same in pictures and in real life. but as stupid and ugly as cybertrucks look in photos, every person iโve spoken to who has seen one in real life agrees that they somehow look even worse in person. and i know youโre thinking to yourself โtah they already look so bad in photos, how can they possibly look even worse in person?โ I DONT KNOW. the first time i saw one on the road i was on a phone call and i literally cut myself off in the middle of a sentence just to be like โoh my GOD.โ just an incredibly, laughably, unbelievably bad vehicle. iโve never experienced anything like it. theyโre just so bad
Nothing will ever beat that shot of Ilya heading towards the door to let Shane into his house in Boston. Like:
- Shoulders. Back. Arms. ๐ซช (Yeah this is the horny balloon emoji again for those who can't see.)
- Fixing the hair? Soooo casual. So nonchalant. Doesn't care at all.
- Imagine answering the door shirtless in October and that just being a casual choice you're making with no ulterior motive at all. Happened to my best good friend Ilya Rozanov
- The Rick Owens haunt the narrative
- Moles.
- Literally he is serving and for what. Shane walks in the door like "Wattup you know who built this place" and has to be redirected like a distracted dog.
- He is trying to be so cool and casual and nonchalant. He's so chill and cool and nonchalant in fact that he breaks a personal fucking record for how long it takes him to get Shane's legs around him. (42 seconds. I counted.)
- Starting to think that Shane has Doritos at the Cottage because he's being fully sublimated into it by Ilya's shoulder to waist ratio. Like it is that serious.
- He's literally prowling I do not know what else to say. Shane should feel fucking hunted the minute that door opens and all he does is go "Okay ๐ฅฐ" like he never. Stood. A. Chance.
Petition for demi's mysterious man to be present in every episode of game changer from now on
So! This is a perfect case study in situations where you should be wary of misinformation.
Take a moment and ask yourself, a project like this requires a lot of time, money and dedication of resources, why would scientists dedicate that time to something that could just be done by a tree?
The answer is they wouldn't. So that means this claim requires further investigation!
This project is called LIQUID 3, and it's not meant for cities with wide open spaces, it's meant for cities like Belgrade in Serbia. These cities are densely populated and heavily polluted, to the point where pollution actually chokes out current trees and makes creating green spaces difficult.
Liquid 3 was a PhD scientists answer to these problems. The microalgae tank is intended for spaces where you either:
Don't have enough space to plant full trees, or
Don't have enough time to plant trees and wait for them to grow up.
The tank is extremely efficient when you consider the amount of space needed compared to the amount of CO2 turned into oxygen. The tank can operate throughout the winter. And most importantly, it can be quickly set up in areas that desperately need relief from air pollution NOW not in 10 years when trees are done growing. Children currently suffocating on polluted air can't wait for trees to grow, they need to be taken care of now, and Liquid 3 is one of the ways to take care of them. Depending on the species of microalgea used, a number have shown a pretty amazing capacity to pull heavy metals out of the air which is something trees can get choked up by.
The tanks aren't just tanks either! Liquid 3 have solar panels placed on top, they have lighting and mobile phone charging, and they work as public benches. The designers of it want to encourage green spaces where there's room, but where there isn't room or time, Liquid 3 can step in. Realistically, this isn't a replacement for trees. It's replacing boring metal city benches with new, cooler benches that also clean the air (and have at least some heating during the winter).
Not only that, but the microalgea that grows is native to Serbia and all that microalgea has a ton of great uses! It makes for great fertilizer, compost, wastewater treatment, cleaner biofuels and even for helping create new tanks for further air purification. They only require a quick algae divide once a month, and the produced algae can be carted off to where ever it's needed. This makes them effective solutions for areas that can't sustain complex installations.
So yeah, there's actually quite a lot of places that would like these. Lots of people currently breathing in terrible quality air would much rather have their boring city benches replaced with really fucking cool algae tanks that clean the air and can be used to help create + sustain future green spaces in cities. I dunno about you, but I'd take that over a dumb metal bench any day. Put these at every bus stop and I'd be delighted.
can ppl pls reblog this version
Serbian here living in Belgrade! This is all true and I've actually seen some of these around the city a few times. They're amazing at what they do and really cool to watch up close because you can see pretty swirling inside them. It's not only functional but aesthetically pretty nice as well!
