I looked it up, for those wondering this is how that exit is designed:

At first I was like "wow idiots" until the actual map. You would genuinely never expect the freeway to just suddenly be a normal road like that. You would still be looking for the proper exit and preparing to BEGIN slowing down by the time you notice only from the cues of your surroundings that you've already "left" the freeway and that fucking overpass would make it impossible to see those cues coming until you're in them?!?!
To anyone still reblogging this almost 4 years later, they have obviously changed the road design.
It is also worth noting that it is always on the driver to not out-drive what they can visually see. If you cannot see what is coming beyond the overpass, reducing speed is your prerogative as the driver, whether it's poor road design or a sink hole in the ground or fog. Do not out-drive your headlights, do not out-drive your ability to comprehend what is in front of you. That is not negotiable and it needs to be emphasized more in driving school.
