my aniteez delivered 2 days ago?? and i had no idea. I guess someone collected it and it's sitting at the stairwell. Or it's sitting outside in the heat 💀💀💀 i love flying to the other side of the country and then fly back and then fly again to the opposite other side of the country 24 hrs later
Okay we've seen the upper limits of what an astronomical budget for filmmaking can do. Let's cap the budget at $500,000 for a few years and see what film teams forced to get creative and utilize unknown actors produce.
i think ppl would be a lot happier and better-adjusted on here if they realized that being online on a website is like being in any other casual public space full of people. if u walk into walmart u dont immediately think to yourself “i have to be friends with everyone in this walmart and if not everyone likes me i’m a failure” and u really shouldn’t feel that way online either. likewise if there’s a guy in the walmart parking lot shouting obscenities u probably wouldn’t answer him and that’s literally an exact equivalent to some of the weird stuff that people on here seem to feel they’re obligated to respond to.
This even applies to public spaces which are designed for people to socialise and meet each other. You don’t have to click with every individual person there.
I think my 👀 brain is 👀 rotting 👀 in places 👀 I think my 👀 heart is ready to die 👀 I think my 👀 body is falling 👀 in pieces 👀 i thinj my blood is passing me by 👀
tonpokpong/savefranc; the [intense] brain rot and how they're driving me absolutely insane.
i thought faifawine would be the (temporary) end to my brain rot era before tanphleng (mos) and timpai (mrs) take over soon. i didn't expect to be so invested and infatuated by savefranc as tonpokpong as soon as i watched the official trailer of mmp back in july.
i genuinely don't know why, but i think my whole body and soul, every nerve in my brain keeps thinking about tonpokpong—and it leads me to savefranc. i think the brain rot intensifies as the series progresses, and this gif perfectly summarises my thoughts and feelings about tonpokpong/savefranc (and how i truly feel whenever i started yapping on twitter about my love for them 😭):
i knew franc from p10l. i can't say i'm a fan from the start, but i did enjoy his performance as jay and was excited to see him again in mmp with tee. however, gmm dropped the news last february (?) that tee wouldn't be in mmp. i was shocked. but i do have to be honest, i wasn't feeling tee/franc's chemistry in the mock trailer (i'm sorry 😔). i don't know. i don't really see them as 'romantic partners', but more to good friends (just like jay and ben in p10l). therefore, when i saw savefranc, i was honestly starstruck.
here's the thing: i didn't know save. i wasn't aware that he was an actor before he joined gmm (and the mmp cast). i had no expectations on savefranc as tonpokpong. maybe that's why they feel so much like a whiff of fresh air to me? because as soon as i saw them in the official trailer, i was hooked.
i'm always a fan of actors who yearn. i call them yearners. some of the actors who are in this circle (in my opinion) are p'force, p'jimmy, p'mark, p'earth and p'great. so, when i saw the trailer, i knew by heart that save will be in my list of yearners because his eyes tell a story, and i'm ready to read it. i think that's when it all began: i was thrilled to see another actor who acts so well with their eyes (as it's one of my favourite acting methods).
tonpokpong's screen time is very limited in every episode, but i think savefranc did a commendable job optimising the little time they had to give depth and nuance to their characters. i love (with the guidance of p'ja) how savefranc shape their chemistry and how the romance between tonpokpong feels organic, palpable and believable. i genuinely believed they're already in love with each other since high school, and it shows in their first meeting.
(like i mentioned, save is such a yearner in my opinion, and this moment alone [as he gazes at pokpong] made me believe that 'ah, he's that actor. ok. he got me').
it's the beginning of my interest in savefranc. i've been rooting for their scenes in every episode, and they never disappoint me. i can gradually see their improvement as the story progresses. i also love the nature of their relationship and characters? i love how forward ton is, but he never pushes his emotions onto pokpong to the point of discomfort. it's enough for pokpong to notice and acknowledge ton's feelings. and pokpong's reluctance (and how he slowly opens up to ton's advancements) is such a treat to witness. the push and pull. the mutual pining. the flirting. the longing. the confessions are layered with jokes. they really feel like long-lost friends reuniting after years of separation, but with the same feelings that still linger even after all the shifts and turns.
but the last few episodes made me realise that savefranc has so much potential.
high school romance often is a hit-or-miss to me, but this little snippet of tonpokpong from high school feels too close to my heart that i actually shed a few tears when i watched this ep 😅 (i've been trying to write a story for tonpokpong every week, and i kind of shaped them into this mould of two boys who are still very much in love with each other even when they're 32). so, it's always so fun (and assuring) to me whenever my headcanon(s) come to life 🥺 this softness. it's clear that they like each other since they were 17/18 🥺 and i love how, again, even though their screen time is limited, their relationship still develops and progresses along with the series. they're the perfect counterbalance of thapfah and inthu's heavier and more tragic love story. i think, it has been a while since i've genuinely enjoyed a second lead couple's backstory, and i'm completely sold by tonpokpong 🤭
episode 7 was already intense with thapin, and they gave us this? oh my God? i was shaking the whole time i watched this part 😭 i kept asking how could this happen? i mean, ton knew pokpong was never vocal with his feelings and thoughts... i guess he should've known better? but pokpong also still didn't have the courage to express or confess because he's just not built that way 😭 this part was so bittersweet. it made their first meeting in ep 1 more understandable! how pokpong was so thrown aback upon seeing ton again after long years of separation. how they were just casually circling each other, just like they were in high school—yet everything's so entirely different, but they couldn't pinpoint what. and those questions bottled up, and now exploded here. i particularly love franc's performance in this scene. i see some nervousness in him, but if he could do this good in emotional/heavy scene now, with practice and time, i think he'll be unstoppable—because this was when i realised that franc was also a yearner.
it's the way pokpong looked at ton with this quiet hopelessness that reflected his personality so well, it broke me. i could feel his confusion, his sadness and the questions he wanted to ask ton for years, all in his eyes. franc did a great job at this. whenever i watch this ep again, i'm reminded of how much potential franc has as an actor. i really enjoyed his performance in this scene, and how he expressed all of pokpong's pent-up emotions through his voice and facial expressions. (and save balanced franc's energy so well in this scene too! the hug! the flirting afterwards? so good! so on point with his character!)
but, this is the ultimate reason for my brain rot aka i'm going absolutely insane era: episode 8, part 4, tonpokpong.
the way i screamed....... it was concerning. 😭
the YEARNING is beyond the roof 😭 good Lord i just—i'm still speechless. i'm still here. i still live here. and i don't know if i can ever move on from this place. i genuinely don't think i can move on (please send help 😭).
i can't get over franc's performance in this scene... he's rendering me speechless because i think he's good at more emotional scenes? scenes that require this kind of tension? because the way he's looking at ton right here holds so much more than just affection 😣 there's this desire to be discovered. to be found. to be known. to be seen. to be understood. and he expressed those feelings in such a pokpong-manner that i went absolutely CRAZY while watching this 😭
ep 8 tonpokpong helps me see savefranc in a different light. i can't get over them. it'll be the only thing i think about until ep 9 airs 🥺😔
i'm unsure if gmm is experimenting with this pair, or what their future will be. will they be one of the 'permanent' pairs in the company? or will they undergo another change? i don't know. but i do know that i would like to see them again in another series 🥺 i don't mind if it's another side couple role because i think they still need time to develop and solidify their chemistry together. it's already good now, but i know it'll be better if they're given more time to understand each other. have more workshops and acting classes because there's so much potential in save and franc as individual actors as well. if gmm ever makes them a fixed pair, honestly, i'll be over the moon 🥺 it'll be such a waste if they're not together in the future because there's this spark and chemistry between savefranc that i can't unsee. it's still all over the place, but it's there, and it needs to be nourished for it to flourish. i believe in them. and i believe that, if they're given more opportunities, they'll continue to be better and better.
i do understand that some people might now really see savefranc the way i do. and that's totally fine! but i get super excited when i see some of my friends on twitter are enjoying their performance as much as i do! i feel happy to be in this little family we created together 🥺 and i wish (manifesting) for it to be the beginning of a sweeter journey together, possibly, for a really long time... because i'll be so heartbroken if savefranc doesn't survive the unexpected gmm curse after mmp ends :(
I was thinking about the whole "fandom moves on to something else" thing and it made me think about my annual picnic. Every year, I have a big picnic in early November and invite a bunch of people. I rent out a pavilion at a local lake, have people bring food that I grill for them if they want, have some games for the kids in the group, and just generally hang out.
Now, the way this goes is that I have everyone show up around 4:30pm. People show up, it's a big crowd, it's pretty warm out because the sun is still up and the mingling is great. People eat, share food, the kids run around in the trees and check out the lake, and we all just generally enjoy ourselves and catch up. Then the sun starts to go down.
People start getting under the pavilion, it starts getting a little chilly, and maybe those with really young kids start to pack up and say good-bye. This is usually when I light up the fire in the pavilion's fireplace and people will begin gathering around there. I let the grill burn down and sit down with everyone as everything gets a bit more mellow. Maybe we make s'mores or have cookies or something but this is usually were you start having more people say their good-byes and head out. That's how it goes for the next couple of hours, little dribbles of people winding up and heading on home until it's 9:30 at night and there's just a few people left in the pavilion in the woods sitting around a little fireplace quietly talking.
You know what? That's the best time at these things. Some years we'll be out there until almost midnight, just chatting quietly and staring into the coals. You learn things about people then, you hear interesting things, and you just feel closer.
So what does this have to do with fandom and moving on? Well, I see it like this. The show is still on, that's the early part of the day. Plenty of people around, lots of activity where art gets made, headcanons and meta fly fast and furious, and tons of fic gets written. Then the show ends, people are still creating but a few peel away, they have other things they have to do or just aren't interested in sticking around. Slowly but surely it goes until it's just a few people left.
That's when the interesting things really start coming out. You still have the other stuff but you start to get off the wall headcanons and wild meta, you get odd art, you get fic the person finally decided to write, and it's good. And hey, every once in a while, someone shows up late and you grab some food out of the cooler for them and warm up a burger for them over the coals while others grab a chair for them and you get them up to speed on the conversation and maybe show them some pictures from earlier in the night and they get to have some of that glow from earlier even if they missed the original.
That's fandom to me. As long as a person is still sitting around that fireplace late into the night, ready to chat, the fandom is never dead.
